The earth trembled beneath the thunderous hooves of the horses, their pounding rhythm sending shockwaves through the ground, causing our bodies to shudder.
I looked behind and saw some men arrayed in war attire, lunging menacingly towards us.
In their hands were swords, bows and arrows for war.
“ Run!” I screamed at the people who were with me as the horse men continued racing towards us.
Some of the younger men who were with me and Mr Hughes earlier, delved at the left hand side of the woods while myself, Mr Hughes and a few older men delved at the right path of the woods to clear the road for the horse riders.
