As the stillness of the woods wrapped itself around me, I let my wolf's energy recede, allowing my body to transform to its human form.
My body began to shift, its fur receding, my limbs shortening, and my claws retracting. In no time, I was once again a man, standing alone under the sun watching all who had died from my sharp teeth and claws.
I counted the men on the floor who were not too far from me. They were ten in number but some corpse lay far away from me.
