Chapter 8

"Mira. Open your eyes." A voice says. It's female. Kinda sounds like me, just more animalistic. I open my eyes and see a big night black wolf. Yep, it's way more animalistic. She's so beautiful! Her black fur looks so silky and her eyes! Her eyes are the color of a soft blue. Well, closer to a sharp ice blue. The wolf was huge. Big muscles and sharp teeth. "Did you just talk to me?" I asked. I mean, normally, you wouldn't just ask an animal like this a stupid question. Or even talking with one. Hell if I wasn't dreaming I would be f*****g running away! "This isn't a dream dip s**t. Now listen. Your family and most of your friends are hiding things from you. I would tell you but it isn't my place." The wolf started. "Why would they lie to me? About what?" I interrupted. Then added "What's your name?" The wolf just sat there and rolled her eyes. "Listen WE do not have time for twenty questions Mira. So shut up and listen." Well dang. Don't gotta be so mean. I thought to myself. "You are me and I am you. You are what humans call a were...." just when she was about to finish I felt water being splashed on me.I sit up fast in my bed breathing fast. Holy f**k that was freezing! "Dude, did you see her face?!" Michael's loud pitched laugh came out. That little... "Mom!" "What sweetie?!" she yelled from downstairs. "I'm going to kill him!" I yelled as I got up and ran at him. Michael ran down the hall then took a right. I slid on the wood floor and almost ran into the railing. That would have been a messy fall. We ran down the stairs and then into the kitchen. Michael stopped right behind mom. Nice now I definitely can't hurt him! You're probably wondering who this kid is. Well Michael is my little brother. Mom looked at us with a laughing smile. I noticed she had a pan in one hand and an egg in the other. Shit. She's cooking. Now I definitely can't do anything. "What did he do?" Mom asked, amused. "That thing just spilled cold water on me!" I growled out. All she did was laugh! My own mother laughed at me. Her oldest daughter! I just stood there with my arms crossed. Impatiently tapping my foot. Five minutes later she finally stops. Turns to me with a smile still on her face and says "Why are you so angry Mira? It was just water. It's not like you had any bad dreams. You haven't had any sense you were four." Then focused back on her cooking. I scratched the back of my neck and sighed a little. That made her look at me. "Are they coming back?" For a minute I thought she sounded hopeful. I shrugged "I honestly have no idea mom. It was just one dream. About a black wolf. She was, huge and beautiful mom." God I sound as if I was talking about a guy! But it is true, that wolf called to me. "A black wolf huh. I remember you always having dreams about her." My father's strong voice boomed into the kitchen. Turning around I see my Father rounding the corner into the kitchen from the living room with a coffee mug in his left hand and the morning paper in his right. "But why? I really don't remember anything. Did I go see a wolf at the Zoo or something?" I need to know. Because that would explain having dreams about her then. But now? Twelve years later? That just sounds weird. "One day while you're mother and I went to a meeting. Scott's mother, Angie, was babysitting you. While she was cooking for you and Scott, you went out into the backyard. You told us there was a big black wolf. That she was so beautiful with her ice blue eyes. You told us that you two played and then it left when Angie came out to tell you lunch was ready." Dad said with a soft smile on his face. Huh it sounds legit. I mean I really don't remember anything from when I was four. But I don't remember telling them the wolf in my dream was a she. "Come on Mira we need to get you ready for school. It's your last day." Mom said as she put some eggs on a plate with pancakes and sausage. Mmmm man my mom makes the best pancakes ever! "Thank you momma. And it's only Thursday. I still have school tomorrow." I reminded her. Hey its not her fault she can't remember my school schedule sometimes. She works all the time. But still makes time for the family. Just like my dad. They both run businesses. Mom runs an interior design business called The Design For Your Home. Ya I know, not that catchy but she does a really good job. My dad owns two big restaurants. Bubba's Barbecue is the biggest one. Everyone here loves their meat. Well, maybe not everyone, but mostly. The second restaurant is Big Ray's Bar and Grill. It's more like a bar but still a restaurant. Like Buffalo Wild Wings. They are both really busy but somehow manage to spend time with us. I ate my breakfast and ran back upstairs to get dressed. I hope I find something nice to wear. Second to last day of school. Kinda need to make those two last. Looking through my new clothes, I find some cute mint green high waisted shorts and a black tank with 'Sorry not sorry' written on it in a circle. Next, I grab a cute plain black bra and panties to go with, then jump into the shower. Twenty minutes later, I'm doing my eyeliner and a light brown color of eyeshadow with black on the outside, making a slight wing shape. Right as I'm about to grab my car keys and bag, my phone goes off. Looking at the caller ID, it's Scott. "Hello." "Yo! Mira, come on, girl, you're gonna be late!" Ugh, he had to pick Aj up, didn't he? I kinda hate the guy sometimes. "Dude, I'll be there as soon as I can. Michael threw cold water on me this morning." I told them. They started laughing, which pissed me. "Damn, I wish I could've seen that! Hey Mira, do you sleep in a bra or not?!" Aj yelled through the phone. "I do. Bye!" I yelled and hung up the phone. "Pig." I grumbled, walking out the door and to my car.
