CHAPTER 1 **He (Sky) was standing with his brother (John) on the roof of their school.** His brother was verbally abusing him, saying: "You are so weird... you always act like a girl. Because of you, our parents are always worried. Can't you stop acting like this?" After saying this, John pushed him. Because he was pushed, Sky's arm rubbed against the wall, leaving him with a rash. His brother then grabbed his collar, bent toward him, and said: "You continue acting like this and I will win everything in my life." Then he kicked him and left. Tears started falling from Sky's eyes. John was Sky's stepbrother and was older than him. Their parents had been married twice. Later, they were both sitting with their parents in the dining room. John asked Sky to fetch him a glass of water, so Sky stood up, poured the water, and went toward his brother. His father was continuously staring at Sky.Sky came back to his chair and sat down. He was about to eat his dinner when his father asked John to pour some water for their mother. John remained seated and handed his mother the water. While he did this, their father said to Sky: "That's how boys do work. Only having good grades is not enough. You also have to act like a boy," he said angrily. Sky's mother looked at Sky with helpless eyes.Sky looked down at his plate. They started eating dinner again, but Sky's eyes filled with tears. This made his father very angry. His father was holding a spoon and suddenly threw it at Sky. Sky's hands were on the table, and the spoon hit his hand hard, hurting him. His father slammed his hands on the table, stood up, and said: "You loser... f*****g gay." After saying this, his father left. His brother smirked at him and went to his room. After a while, Sky looked up at his mother with tears in his eyes. Then he left the dining room to do his homework. At 3:00 AM, he finished his assignment. It was a group project, and his job was to collect all the information and write it down on paper. Suddenly, his brother came into his room. He picked up Sky’s favorite headphones and threw them out the window. Sky tried to stop him, but he couldn't because he was shorter than his brother. John pushed Sky down into hischair, leaned close to him, and put his hands on the table. Their faces were very close. Sky thought his brother was going to slap him and leave. Instead, John grabbed the assignment. Sky stood up to take it back, but his brother ripped the papers into pieces and said something mean before walking outBrother: "Now do that again." *leaves* Sky was shocked and confused. He didn't know how he would finish his assignment on time because school started in only four or five hours. Most of the boys in his project group always put him down and said he couldn't do anything right. He was about to start the assignment over again, but then he accidentally deleted the file. Tears filled his eyes. He thought about telling his group members that he accidentally deleted it to see if they could do it again. He put his hands in his hoodie pockets and noticed his phone wasn't there. He looked around and saw it lying face down on the ground. He picked it up and saw scratches on the screen. He remembered hearing something fall when he was trying to get his assignment back from his brother; that must have been his phone. He turned the phone on, and it was still working. With shaking hands, he dialed his group's number .
