Brooks POV At age 5, I started seeing the cruelty of the world. I was named as a naughty tiny smart girl who's dreams and fighting spirit is bigger than my size. I started asking questions. I started composing pictures between my imagination. I created a lot of fantasies within my mind and was determined to reach it by chance or by my ability! "Brooks! go and call your brother! your father Ram is coming!" aunt Nimfa shouted. Yes, my 8 year old big bro will be in trouble once caught that he is playing outside! I call him bruddy. "Yes aunty I will call him" I and my big brother was left under the care of our father. Our youngest was brought by our mom Yoli in L City since ou r mom chosen to live separately to our irresponsible father. Who would have stayed if the only thing that dad can give to mom is a miserable life being hit, kicked and shouted everytime he's drunk. "Bruddy! Dad is coming! go home fasteeeer!" "Brooks! hahaha let's go inside and act like sleeping!" My life continued like it's only me and Bruddy exist. "Yoli, can you go and buy a ripe mango for me? I saw it outside, it will help my apetite" Pat said sarcastically with raising eyebrows "No, she can't b***h and you deserve this!" With all my force I've thrown the dishes on Pats face. They all froze in shock. I definitely understand what's happening and all I want at that moment is to get revenge for my mom. I witnessed those nights that my mom is crying silently. The night that dad told mom that he will be bringing his mistress temporarily at home until he find one for her. I heard the silent agony of my pity mother. I felt like I was stabbed in my heart. I will make my dad and his mistress pay for this. I will never allow them to break my mom. Instead of running inside my room, I turned to my mom and shouted! "Mommy! you said I am intelligent right? then you are also! why are you allowing them to enter this house! You are the wife! Mom wake up! Come fast and help me kill that dirty witch! "And you dad!" pointing her finger to his father, "Do you want to hurt me? Do you want to punch me like what you do to my mom? Kill me instead! I wish I don't understand what's happening! I wish I am i***t! I wish you killed me before I was born! I hate all of you! I hate my life! I will never live together with that dirty old witch! You said you love our family?! you are liar! liar! liar!" I hysterically pulled my hair while crying. That was my last words before the surrounding slowly fades and turned into all black and I collapsed... I was just awakened by only sound that I could hear which is the voice of Bruddy crying and shouting for my name. "Brooks you are crazy, wake up now or dad will punish me because I will play cards outside. You need to tell me once he come!" Slowly I opened my eyes and see bruddy and mom crying watching over me. "Mom? Bruddy? why are you crying?" I ask worriedly. "Baby Brooks we are happy that you already wake up, are you hungry my princess?" mom ask "Hey brooky you should promise me that you will not do it again! you crazy little puppet is trying to leave me?" Bruddy complained wiping his tears "Hahaha I just wake up from sleeping Bruddy and why are you pissed of me?" Bruddy just looked at me and hugged me tightly. "Promise me that you will never do it again because we'll grow together and get rich as planned." Bruddy whispered sadly Since then, I promised to trust no one but mom and brothers. And now we are so excited waiting for dad. We are prepared and all packed as he decided to follow mom in L City. After 1 year, finally I can hug her and my little brother again. Brain's POV Life is so hard. Watching people achieved their goals in life while here I am suffering behind these mountains. Growing up witnessing the lack of everything. How lucky are those people who were born with a golden spoon. I know I need to finish my studies and the only way is to leave this place. Tomorrow morning, I'll go and see the school where I will be enrolled for junior high school. The Boys' Town is a school for the poorest of the poor. I need to prepare my self because staying there is not easy and it will mean that I will be leaving my outside world life including seeing my family. Parents are scheduled only to visit during weekends. All are boys and nuns. "Huuu how harsh not to meet lovely babes at this young age of mine." Brain sighed about his naughty thoughts. "Brain why don't you pitch water for drink!" Brain's mom Mercy is shouting. "Mom I already get grasses for the goats and cows, why not tell Ryan to pitch water?" Brain complained. "No you go and pitch water! that will be your last since you are leaving tomorrow!" Mercy shouted irritatedly. "Yeah as always mom." Brain murmured Time had passed Brooks remained doubtful to other people. She's often vigilant and careful in choosing friends. Though she finished her grade level with consistent awards, she was still able to trust no one. An independent and responsible daughter to her parents. She competes and win. Since the day her dad stayed with them, she promised to herself that she will not be a burden to her parents. "Brooks!" Bruddy shouted in her ears "Ouch bruddy! you broke my eardrum! you need to carry my bag!" she shouted running after bruddy "Ohhh hahaha Brooks its just your eardrums, I did not break your arms!" "I will tell Allen, your crush that you pee in your pants!"Brooks shouted Hearing it Bruddy stop like a car on a sudden break. Time runs so fast. They graduated in secondary school. Brooks is an honor student again. Leadership awardee as she was the consistent Class and Campus President during her last year. Artist of The Year, of course she knows how to draw and paint. Dancer of the year, she was a member of their dance troupe. Singer of the year, she often compete in singing also. Best in Math, best in English, best in Science. Girl scout of the year. She is unstoppable. She want to soar high for her family! But she don't have boyfriend! or she even denies when asked about crushes. She claimed to be a man hater. She once told her few friends that she will not marry but she want a family, so she will just hire a baby maker! BRAIN graduated in secondary school. He was determined to succeed. Living inside the boy's town is quite difficult yet worth staying. The training is hard especially when their mentors are all nuns. They pray in all times. Discipline is a must. No girls of course. " Now that I am already outside, I want to enjoy life and continue striving for my future. I want to become an engineer" BROOKS. It was year ago, when she almost lost her sanity in a blink she received a message that Bruddy died. She even wished to die rather than seeing her brother inside the box. It was cardiac arrest and its probably God's plan. Things changed. She enrolled in T university in Q City. It took her so long to finish her degree as she needed to stop and help her younger brother...but because she often see bruddy in her dreams telling her that she needs to graduate and finish her degree, she decided to pursue it. It was smooth and challenging for her as she maintained her grades to have a scholarship for free tuition. It is really her dream to achieve without bothering her family. She want to show to her father that their family is worth keeping. She want to prove to him that his children are his treasure. BRAIN. T University is the cheapest among all in Q city. Brain chose it to lessen the expenses. Grabbing the opportunity that his brother Gael offered to him is the best way for him to achieve. He is lucky now that in this moment, he has someone to run on in times of hardships. He was determined to become a Licensed Mechanical Engineer. BROOKS. "What a heck! I didn't expect that my first day will be as worst as this!" brooks feeling frustrated about the announcement. "Hey Brooks!chill...I know you can do it!" Kacey, her friend tries to calm her down They just heard the announcement that they will be the incharge of the compilation of grades of their classmates for the next semestral graduates. As Class President and Kacey as Vice President, they are obliged of the task. "Do you see how unlucky we are? while our classmates are enjoying parties, we are here at the office trying to fix their mess!" "haaiisst I don't know also why is this happening." Kacey sighed while looking at her phone openning a message app. "Brooks, look at this...I have this friend who keep sending me nonsense, and now he is asking me if I can access in the portal to check his grades" Kacey giggles with full check blush "Ohh so checking grades will make you blush?" Brooks cracked a laugh "Hahaha crazy this man is really nonsense though he's cute" with sparks in her eyes Kacey brush her hair like she's feeling her day dreaming. " Hmmm so whats wrong with the grades? does the grades potioned my friend?" Brook said with a poker face and a teasing smile. " Hey hahaha he kept texting me to ask where am I...yet he sound a little p*****t sweet badass everytime he says that he wanna break my bones harder once he catch me in person." Kacey looked excited "Hahaha so you haven't meet?" Brooks yelled surprisingly "Ahehehe not yet, but we'll meet soon, so could you please help me checking his grades? since you are the only one who have access in the portal, please I want to include him in my list" Kacey act like she's about to kneel down. "Hey crazy! you are really a legend toying those boys who surrounds you...Have mercy woman! you might mess up with a wrong guy!" With a sigh rolling her eyes Brooks continued . "Give me his complete name and ID number!, I'll check it later" Brooks acted like she's showing a dismay and smile quickly. Kacey is a beauty and brain in their Campus just like Brooks...but they differ in terms of relationship. Brooks is best described as a dirty advanced minded with a pure soul. She don't like hurting other people's feeling. She value every individuals life and existence. She love nature and all animals and treats all creatures just like human. She has many suitors and she's good to them, but she never allow them to expect and be hurt at the end as she often says that she only prioritize her studies for now. Since bruddy died, she acted and shared too much laughter in her surrounding, but deep within her she remained in pain and her intra personal wishes to be alone. On the contrary, Kacey wants all the attention. She collect and collect and select all at the same time. Kacey is best described as lebirated one. "Okay class! Since this is our first day I want you to introduce your self in front. You have been with each other for few years, yet I want to familiarize you all before we proceed to our lessons...so may we start to your class president?" Everybody is looking to where brooks is! and everybody is about to burst a laughter when they saw Brooks is slouching behind her tall classmate and is sleeping. "Hey Brooks! Mr. Jones is calling you!" Kacey suddenly tapped Brooks back "Ahh yes sorry, what I was talking is about the chicken fellet you just ate without permision!" Brooks said angrily while pointing to Mr. Jones. Then the chaos started! Laughter echoed in the classroom and too late for Brooks to realize that she is dreaming inside the classroom. She fall asleep while waiting for their professor and never noticed that he arrived as she consumed her vacant time for the compilation. She wished not to stay long in front of the computer as it make her feel dizzy and sleepy. And now she want to ask the floor to eat her alive to hide herself! "What a shameful day, huhuhu Lord of all Lords hear me, I want to disappear now! Please send me a savior even your worst dragon to pick me out of here" Brooks turned lavender because of shyness while looking at her mates and professor coughing and laughing. "Knock! Knock! Excuse me Mr. Jones can I talk to Miss Brooks right now? the college dean have something to tell her" A heroic voice soothed Brooks heart. It was Brain. Brooks awkwardly say hi to her professor and signaled him that she's leaving as he is still laughing. Without any quesstion she pulled Brain's arm while running away from the classroom. "Ouh my God! you are my savior! thank you God for sending a dragon!" Brooks shouted like a child and unconciously hugging Brain's arm.. "Excuse me? What dragon?" Brain asked confusedly And again Brooks in a full blast red face return back to her system realizing how mess she is today suddenly thrown Brain's arm.. " Ohh God, I'm sorry..what I have done?" getting weak Brooks sat down at the aisle's bench. " Hahaha okay Miss Brooks, breath and relax so we can go now to the office" Brain teasingly sit beside brooks. "You look so tired, the reason why you are out of your self, you need a full body massage?" Brain whispered to Brooks with a blink. And a pair of palms registered on Brain's face. Slap to the right and slap to the left while saying; "I got this sleep paralysis and whatever, but I still can kill you p*****t!" Brooks shouted and run leaving Brain in the lobby BRAIN Making a promissory letter is real shameful and hard. I need to convince the Dean that I will pay my tuition next week and just approve my enrolment application. "Brain, while reading your letter, can you please look for Miss Brooks, the class President in-charge for the compilation of this semestral graduates' grade? She is at Education building right now" Dean Harvey instructed courteously Reaching the floor of Miss Brooks' classroom, Brain heard Mr. Jones talking in front so he did not interrupt. While waiting Brain saw a Tiny lady hiding at the back of her classmate... sleeping like there's no tomorrow. Tiredness registered in her innocent beautiful face. And the Professor looked for the class president, and Brain saw that the lady was tapped and awakened by her seatmate. Suddenly Brain burst out into laughter including the lady's mates because she pointed their Professor telling that he ate the chicken fellet without asking permission to her. And things happened so fast. The lady is already pulling his arms and they were both running away from the classroom and ended up like he was slapped by an angel...a stubborn angel. "I will look for you and make you pay for slapping me honey", Brain's promise....
