I woke up to the sound of instruments playing and my family and best friend singing for me

I look around there are freaking trumpeters in my room my dad, mum, brother, and my bestie are singing happily and I feel like my ears are gonna bleed

“Happy Birthday baby” Dad says kissing my forehead

“My baby is finally a woman today” mum says excitedly

“Thanks guys I love you but my ears are bleeding” I say dramatically

“That's a lie I sound beautiful” Kat says and I roll my eyes

“Okay that's enough girls, there's a lot to do, raven take a shower and meet us downstairs in 10 minutes kat Will escort you to the salon” Mum says as she drags everyone downstairs giving me privacy

I sigh and stare at my reflection in the mirror

And for some reason, the unease is still there

I step out of the shower and get dressed. My outfit today is a little extra. A knee-length flowery dress with simple flats and I put my hair up in a messy ponytail

I apply a little mascara and lip gloss then head out

The pack house is bustling with activities mum and Aunt Carrie are giving orders and Kat is typing excitedly

Pack members spotted me some smiled the others wished me happy birthday

“I'm done” I say grabbing their attention

“Perfect, uhm Kat you'll join her in the salon cause I trust you to make her look perfect” Mum says waving her over

“Of course, Auntie you have nothing to bother about” Kat said with a wide grin on her face

She grabs my hand and starts dragging me outside. Since mum didn't let me eat cause according to her I need to look snatched in my outfit

Kat is typing excitedly on her phone and I'm certain it's that guy. It's a miracle they're still together

Kat has a bad record with men. They never last up to three weeks but they're still together which raises my suspicions even more

I pull up in the driveway of the salon. It's small and cozy with a familiar feeling

I'm greeted by a kind brown brown-haired girl and led to my seat

She brings out her working tools and Kat immediately starts giving directions while the girl works on my hair and I sit there helpless.

After 3 hours of torturing my scalp, I'm finally done

My long blonde hair was put in a layered bob and I must admit I looked pretty

We stop by to get food then head home for the preparations

It's evening and I'm already exhausted. Once I step out of the bathroom Kat is already there holding a makeup kit and what I think is my dress for the night

“No time no time raven” she says dragging me to sit in front of the mirror. I sit helplessly and let her design my face silently praying I don't end up looking like a clown

After one unbearable hour, she drops her brush and turns me to the mirror

I take a deep breath before opening my eyes. I gasped. The person staring back didn't look like me. The makeup was light but enough to bring out my face

My eyes had a smoky eye look with mild blush to make my cheeks flushier and light lipstick. I looked beautiful

“It's beautiful” I say turning to Kat who's smiling proudly

“Now go get dressed princess” she said handing me the dress and sitting down to do her makeup

I put it on, it's a blue ball gown with diamond designs

I look like a Disney princess. My shoes are silver moderate heels with a fairy buckle

I stare at my reflection one last time and take a deep breath

By now Kat is dressed and she looks gorgeous as well

Her dress is similar to mine but shorter and black

Her makeup isn't as mild as mine but she looks stunning either way

“Ready?” she asks I give her a slight nod and we walk out of the room
