SANDON HAD HER RUN the boat up to a short dock at the back of an inlet off the big lake. The nearest cottage was high on a hill with a thick ridge of trees between it and the water. Brita’s gaze scanned the area as Sandon nudged Brick to climb out and secure the boat to the dock. Nothing moved.
