“HOW FAR ARE WE FROM Indy?” Emma fought to keep the hysteria from her voice. She glanced at the clock in the dashboard for the thousandth time since they’d started the last leg of their journey. It was four twenty-five. She was nearly out of time. And even if she made it to Indy by five o’clock, she still had no idea where to look for her daughter. “Ten minutes. We’re going to make it, honey.” Clovis touched her knee, squeezing it lightly. Emma frowned. His touch warmed and soothed, but it didn’t do anything to save her baby girl. “Try dialing my brothers and Brita again,” he told her. Emma suspected he was just trying to keep her distracted but she picked up the phone again.
