Despite the offer of the Butler to give a tour of the palace, Kon and Miriam decided to stay and wait for Kalvin. They sat together silently, Kon imagining everything that could go wrong and mapping an escape route while Miriam stared at the portrait of the royal family that hung in the waiting room.
