Chapter 6

“Woah woah woah. Pump the brakes. Why can’t you be his mate?”

“Because it’s weird. I don’t mind being flirty with my brother I don’t mind him checking me out but actually having s*x with him! That’s just so gross of a thought. The other night he said he could get me pregnant and I felt so sick.” She started her dad’s truck.

“Or maybe not. Just give it til you shift. After that if you still feel the same way then reject him.”

“I don’t think I can wait that long. That man literally has a hard on for me.”

“What happened? You were fine a couple of hours ago.”

“This is the constant battle with this guy. When he’s gone I miss him. I want him. But when he’s back he makes me sick and moody.”

“You just need an orgasm.” Della rolled her eyes. They really aren’t working.

“No I don’t.”

“Whatever you say.” She pulled into her parents drive way. “Im going inside. Coming?”

“In a minute.” Erica hopped out. Was she being too harsh? Should she reject him. She saw Jesse. One of her chemistry partners. She hopped out.

“Hey Jesse.” He looked over and smiled. She caught up to him.

“What up? I haven’t seen you for a couple of weeks.” He sounded excited.

“I’m good. How are you doing?”

“I’m good. You’re close to shifting right?” She forgot he was a werewolf.

“Yeah. Two weeks.”

“Man. You seem okay for being that close.”

“Really?”

“Yeah. My sister got moody and lashed out a lot. She was always angry. Then she was emotional. It was a rollercoaster.” Great. That’s what she had to look forward to.

“That sounds crazy.” It really did.

“It was. But I heard having your mate around can relieve the symptoms. Have you figured out who might be your mate?”

“Are you serious?”

“Yeah.” Did he seriously not know?

“Yeah I know who my mate is.” That’s all she was saying.

“It’s nick isn’t it?” She laughed.

“No. Not nick.” He looked so surprised.

“Not our chemistry teacher?” He sounded so worried about that. She laughed.

“Not him either.”

“Who is it then?”

“I would rather not say.”

“Is he inside?”

“Yeah.” Jesse pulled her close and licked her neck. “What are you doing?” She pushed away from him. She was stunned.

“Going to figure it out. Once your mate smells me on you he will go crazy… this is going to be fun.” He walked away. The jerk. She sat down in the garden. She took her heels off. This was a long day. Maybe it was preshifting jitters and nerves and hormones.

“Hey baby girl. What are you doing out here? The party is inside.” Great him.

“You’re inside. So I can’t be right now.” He laughed and sat down right next to her.

“Before you freak out Jesse wants to know who my mate is so he licked me trying to drive you crazy. He’s hoping you’ll get mad enough and snap.”

“Well if you didn’t warn me I would definitely go and snap his neck.” He pulled her closer to him. He licked over where Jesse licked. “I don’t like you smelling like other guys.” She knows. She once wore one of nicks hoody’s and Jared was less than amused for the day. Her and nick had a blast with it. Jared started sucking her neck. She moaned and moved her body closer to him. He sucked on her harder.

“Jared? Della?” Their mom. This was not a good position to be found in. Mate or not.

“Dang woman.” Jared said against her neck. Della started laughing and pushed off Jared. She got up and walked in the direction of her mom’s voice.

“Were you both being good?” Her mom asked her.

“When are we not?” Her mom gave her the look. Every mom has one. Della laughed. “I don’t want to know the answer do I?”

“Nope. I know too much. Now go inside. Your friends are waiting. Have fun. Your dad and I are going to the beach house for a couple of days.”

“Okay. Thanks for the party.” Della hugged her mom. Her dad showed up. He hugged Della.

“Go have fun. Let loose. You’ve earned it. We love you. Call us if you need us.” Her parents walked to the truck and left. Della walked inside.

“Is that Jared I smell on you?” Jesse asked the second she walked through the door.

“Patio now!” She said. They walked to the patio. Della explained everything. Jesse looked shocked.

“So what are you going to do?” She heard someone behind them. Maybe Jared maybe nick.

“I don’t know. I can reject him or I could just be his mate. I’m not sure.”

“That’s got to be torturous. Living with your mate. And he has so many rules to follow.”

“Yeah. It’s a real blast.” She sounded so bitter. Jesse laughed.

“Well good luck to you. I know you will choose the right thing.” He got up and went inside. Della did too. She talked to some people. A lot of her friends started drinking so she snuck upstairs. She was trying to get her dress off. There was a knock on her door.

“Baby girl you okay?” Why can’t he leave her alone?

“I could use a little bit of help.” She opened her door. “My zipper got caught.” She let him in. He got behind her. He got the zipper loose and moved it down. He started kissing along the back of her neck.

“Youre so beautiful.” She leaned back and moaned. She felt’s Jared’s groin against her butt. She grinded a little. He groaned in her ear.

“Oh baby girl.” Soaked. She was soaked. The things she wants Jared to do to her body. She should let him. His hand that was resting on her hip moved towards her center.

“Stop it.” She pushed him away. He looked sad and surprised. She was even surprised. One of them had to show restraint. She grabbed her clothes and went into the bathroom. She took a shower. She got dressed. He was sitting on her bed. She figured he would be. She crawled into her bed.

“What are you thinking? My wolf feels your uneasiness.” Dang wolf of his. He was already in tune with Della’s emotions.

“Truthfully?” She asked him.

“Yes. Truthfully.” She shouldn’t tell him.

“I’m going to reject you after I shift.” She doesn’t know why she told him or how that even came out of her mouth. But it was true. He looked so surprised.

“Okay. Why not before?”

“I really want to see my wolf.”

“Okay. That’s fine.” He got up and left. She ached for him. She wanted him. But she can’t do it. She just can’t. They were both stubborn. She tossed and turned all night. Her skin felt like it was on fire! She opened the window let in some cool air. She crawled back into bed. Hopefully her skin will calm down and she can sleep.
