Her brother her… mate?!

Chapter 1

Her chemistry class was almost over. Thank the moon goddess. She really doesn’t want to be in school anymore. Two more weeks til graduation. Then right after graduation is her birthday. The big 18. She has felt her wolf for years but never shifted. Once she finds her mate she will shift. She was told the experience was painful but having your mate by your side helps a lot. She wasn’t looking forward to it. But at least she will not have to worry about school or anything else. Her phone vibrated.

‘Hey baby girl want to have lunch?’ Her older brother. Did she really want to? Almost seemed like he knew he was her mate. She smirked a little. Imagine being paired with your brother! Of all people! He’s always been possessive of her. She used to make excuses for him and say it was just his wolf being protective of his poor defenseless sister. Or that he’s always been that way.

“Ms Harper are you okay?” Oh no. She wasn’t paying attention to the teacher. Who also weirdly seemed to have a crush on her.

“I’m sorry. It’s almost lunch… I forgot breakfast.” He smirked at her. He was always so patient and nice to her but everyone else he was mean to. Could be because her dad was alpha. That man was scary. Most of the class laughed. Her best friend Erica mouthed BS and gave her that Erica smile. He went back to teaching.

‘I know you saw the message. Lunch?’

‘I’m in class leave me alone.’ Being the only sibling to that man was getting boring. She wishes he would find someone to be with. A girl honestly. But he wasn’t interested in girls. She’s always slightly wondered if he was secretly gay. Being the only son to the alpha once he finds his mate he will get married and then once he knocks his mate up and she gives birth he will be alpha. Lucky lady will be his Luna.

‘I’ll pick you up at 1245.’ What? She didn’t want to be alone with him. He’s beginning to get short fused and annoying. He snapped at her the other day. Apparently he never got the memo no one talks to her like he did. Her dad and Jared got in an argument at the time. It was beginning to get stressful for the whole family. He needs a mate and soon. He knew who his mate was. She’s asked him before. He said he knew. But who was it? Did she move? Did she reject him? Did he get a new one? So many questions and not a lot of answers. Which was annoying. She messaged Erica real quick.

‘Lunch 1245? Jared’s paying.’

‘Hell yeah!’ She always secretly wondered if Erica was Jared’s mate and they didn’t know how to tell her. But she’s never seen them together neither has anyone else. Aside from him being in insane shape and hot and the future alpha Erica seemed very disinterested in Jared. Della smirked a little. She would venture to say she was more interested in Jared than Erica was. The bell rang. Her phone vibrated.

‘I’m out front.’ Erica looped her arm in Della’s.

“Let’s go make this an expensive lunch bill.” Della laughed. They had free period after this. Then after that was independent studies that they could do anywhere. She wonders if she can convince Jared to go to a coffee shop… that would be fun. Then school was over. She normally got a jumpstart on her homework. They walked out front. There was Jared leaning against his truck looking like pure sin.

“I forgot how hot he was.” Erica whispered. He seriously was. She shouldn’t be thinking about it. But he was so hot! He had such a nice body and she knows he’s worked hard for it.

“I thought it was just going to be me and you baby girl.” The way he says baby girl and the way he looks at her. Gosh that turns her on. It shouldn’t. And he could probably smell her arousal. He always had a smirk on his face when he said it.

“I didn’t want to leave Erica hanging.”

“Yeah. Besides her and I are practically twins. We are joined at the hip.” Erica hip bumped Della. Jared laughed. Della was paying attention to Erica. She looked at Jared for a second. He had a very lustful expression towards her.

“Fine hop in.” He walked around to the drivers side. They will have to come back for her truck. Della walked around and hopped into the back seat. Erica hopped in on the other side. Jared drove to their dad’s diner.

“Booooo! I want to stick you with a thousand dollar bill.” Erica said. Della couldn’t believe her friend said that. Jared laughed.

“I just need to stop here. Wait in the car.” He hopped out. Her dad came out of the diner. They seemed to be having an intense conversation. Erica has already shifted. She cracked the windows. Her eyes got wide.

“What?” Della asked her.

“Nothing. I think Jared should drop me off at home.” What did she know?

“Why?”

“No reason.” Jared walked back towards his truck. He didn’t look so relaxed. Della leaned forward and massaged his shoulders a little. All his tension went to his shoulders and neck.

“Everything okay with you and dad? I’m not going to become an only child right?” She could feel Jared’s body relax in her hands. He was breathing deeply. Almost like her scent was calming him. He laughed

“No. Unfortunately you aren’t that lucky.” He made eye contact with her in the rearview mirror. Gosh he had the most gorgeous green eyes. They must have lingered a little too long.

“Okay lovers I’m hungry let’s get going.” Della blushed and Jared laughed.

“Ewww.” Della said. Jared smirked. So did Erica. What did they know? Jared pulled up in front of one of the fancier restaurants. They were pretty casual but the prices were ridiculously expensive. They all hopped out.

“Hey go in. I have a reservation for my name.” Jared said pulling Erica back. Weird. Maybe they were mates and he can’t control himself any longer. Hopefully. Della walked in.

“Yes I’m part of the party for jared.”

“Right this way.” She was lead through the restaurant she sat down. And ordered everyone waters. About ten minutes later Jared and Erica showed up. They didn’t look different or happy so maybe they weren’t mates. Gosh she wishes Jared would tell her who his mate was! He’s been a wolf for 6 years. He just said she wasn’t around. Do you know how many people have come this way? Moved to town? He has to have a mate sometime. Also like shouldn’t he be more of a man w***e? Apparently wolves have an insatiable s****l appetite. She wasn’t looking forward to that. Apparently the men get it worse than the women. She’s been told a few women are worse. Especially when they end up in heat. Gosh she wasn’t looking forward to that. She would have to stay home for a week straight. Sometimes longer. Depended on what phase the moon was. She really didn’t want to think about it. But having her mate with her will help. Her mom has told her horror stories of her heat. So has Erica. She was not happy about it. Hopefully she didn’t have to deal with it right away.
