Chapter 2

Jared dropped Erica off. Della stayed in the back of the truck. He drove back to the high school and Della hopped out.

“Dad and mom won’t be home for a week by the way. So you’re stuck with me and my friends.” Yuck. She made a face. He smirked

“Wonder what Erica is doing…” Jared laughed and took off. She hopped in her truck. She pulled out her phone.

‘Want to come over tonight? I’m stuck with Jared and his friends. Mom and dad are gone for a week.’

‘Really? He’s having people over? At a time like this?’

‘What?’

‘Nothing forget I said anything. I’ll be over at like 8. Meeting Matt’s mate.’ She forgot he found his mate. She slightly was relieved it wasn’t her. She drove home. She grabbed her back pack and went into the house.

“Hey little lady.” Yay. Nick. She loves nick! She secretly hopes he’s her mate. But she knows he found his. He hasn’t said who. But he does get a slight blush with Erica around.

“Hey nick.” She started walking for the kitchen. She grabbed a thing of sweet tea.

“Nice butt. Those jeans really show off how great your butt is.” Someone noticed! She heard Jared let out a growl from the living room. Nick looked over on the direction and smirked.

“He doesn’t like you guys hitting on his baby sister.” Nick smirked

“I think he has a little crush on you.”

“Probably. But I got homework. Nice seeing you.” She went to walk away. Nick slapped her butt hard! She heard the growl and before she knew it Jared had her pushed behind him. How did he move so fast?

“What the hell did you just do to my sister?”

“Jared it’s okay…”

“It’s not okay Della!” His eyes were turning black. He was losing the fight with his wolf. Nick looked genuinely terrified.

“I’m sorry. It won’t happen again.” Nick looked genuinely scared. Why did everyone seem to know something she didn’t?!

“Jared it’s fine.” He was about to lose the fight with his wolf. “Jared.” She put a hand on his bicep. She can’t restrain him forever but enough to give Nick a fighting chance to get away. His breathing got even. She weirdly calmed his wolf. Then it hit her… she was his mate! That’s why he wasn’t a man hoe. He was hers. That can’t be!

“Hey nick can you come back in like an hour?” He looked confused. So did Jared.

“Yeah. I’ll go do patrol real quick.” He walked out the back door.

“Why did my friend need to leave?” Jared sounded mad at her.

“Because your mate told him to.” Jared exhaled. He also looked relieved. She finally knows.

“I’ve tried to deny it. I don’t want you to be my mate.”

“But here we are. What do you know?” He exhaled again.

“Mom and dad need to answer that for you.”

“No I want my mate to explain it to me.”

“I don’t have an hour to explain everything.”

“Shorten it. Im sure you can.”

“You’re adopted.” Ok.

“That’s a little too short.” He smirked.

“Ask mom and dad.”

“Fine whatever.” She rolled her eyes and went to walk away. Jared grabbed her wrist. “You’re hurting me.” She got free of his hold. She heard the growl. His wolf wanted her.

“As your future alpha you better watch how you talk to me.” He practically hissed at her. This will be the first time they’ve had the future alpha fight. This was going to be fun.

“Let me by.” She hissed at him. He growled and grabbed her by the throat. He pushed her into the refrigerator. Her body got really excited. His wolf started showing up again. His eyes were turning black. He was really aroused. How has she never noticed this before?

“What do you think you’re going to do?” His nose was flaring. He wasn’t going to hurt her. As his mate and as the alphas daughter. Dad would kill him if he leaves a mark on her. He knew he made her aroused. She could feel him getting bigger. How has she never noticed this?

“You’re hurting me!” He looked like he felt awful. She kneed him in the hip and he backed up a little. He seemed to calm down. He pulled her body close to his. He started kissing her neck. Then he licked it. It soothed her aching, burning skin and turned her on… horribly.

“I want to taste you so bad.” He said against her neck. She wanted him all over her. There was a knock. He moved away. Her body ached and missed him. She hasn’t even shifted yet. She was told it would be worse once she shifts. She will get territorial of her mate. She wasn’t even sure if that was a thing. Nick walked into the house.

“Everything looks good. Everything looks safe.” Nick said and walked towards the fridge. Della moved around the island. Jared’s lustful expression as he looked at her butt as she left the room didn’t go unnoticed. She was going to have some fun with this now that she knows. She walked up the stairs. She plopped on her bed. Her skin felt hot. Almost like she had a fever. Erica came into her room and put her hand on her shoulder. Felt like she was being burned. She hissed at Erica.

“So you just acknowledged the bond?” She groaned and rolled over.

“You’re lucky. It will only feel like that til you mate. Which will be soon. Since he’s the alpha you will do it on the next full moon.”

“Why am I mated to my brother?” She really didn’t get why Jared was her mate. Of all people. Why couldn’t it be nick? At least he wasn’t her brother!

“Because you’re adopted. You can’t tell? You look nothing like your brother or your parents.”

“How do you know all this?”

“Because your poor brother is so sexually frustrated. He complained to my brother. And he told my parents and I eaves dropped.” Great.

“Why isn’t he even having s*x with other girls?”

“Because it could literally kill you. You think he’s going to hurt his sister?… let alone his mate?”

“Who’s your mate?” Erica has never mentioned her mate. She smiled.

“He’s tall dark handsome and hangs out with your brother a lot.”

“Nick.” Erica smiled.

“Have you seen him without a shirt?”

“Wait til he spanks you.” Erica’s eyes got wide.

“What?!”

“Yeah. He slapped me good. I think he left a hand print.”

“How did Jared react?”

“How do you think?”

“Yikes… did he go full wolf?”

“No. I calmed him down.” She felt so hot. She opened her window. It was cool outside.

“Close the window. You’re going to catch a cold.”

“It feels so good. I want to go for a run.”

“Do you think Jared will let you?”

“Definitely not. But he doesn’t need to know.” She took her shirt off and started stripping. She changed into running clothes.

“He did leave a handprint on your butt by the way.” She faced the mirror. She got her leggings mostly up. Yep he did. Dang.

“It still tingles a lot.” She put her leggings up. Erica laughed.

“Great. Now I have to compete with you for his attention.” Della laughed.

“Nope he’s all yours.” She changed into her running shoes. She walked outside to her balcony and down her stairs and started on the running path in the woods.
