I don’t know why father is letting Nihil go to high school with me. He should have sent her to a human high school. The cow doesn’t even have a wolf, yet here she is, with me. I was super excited about my first year of high school. Blueridge High School is where four packs connect. This makes it easy for us to find our mates. I don’t care about finding mine, but I was more excited about meeting new boys. I was tired of messing around with the ones I already had. I need fresh blood. I glimpsed Nihil. She was heading somewhere else. We didn’t have any of the same classes. At least that was good. I watched a tall, handsome guy bump into her, making her spill her books all over the ground. I smirked, but it soon turned to a frown as I watched him help her pick them up and actually talk to her. He said something, and it made her laugh. “You look like you smell something bad,” Kellyanne said. She was one of three of my best friends. Kellyanne had no filter, and I loved her for it. She wasn’t as tall as me, but close. She had honey-colored skin and chestnut shoulder-length hair. Her eyes were amber, which was the name of her wolf. “Maybe it’s your new perfume,” Olive said, making Maria laugh. Olive was the shortest of us, but she was super fast. She was our Gamma’s daughter. She looked just like her father. Most of us kids did. Which was why Nihil was a curse. She might have had mother’s dark hair but her eyes were not fathers. She looked nothing like our father. Olive had curly brown hair and muddy green eyes. She and Kellyanne fought like bitches in heat most of the time, because Kellyanne was the Beta’s daughter and she was ranked higher. Not only was she ranked higher, but she was prettier, but not as pretty as me. I looked at my friends. “I was watching Nihil.” “Your si--“ “Don’t finish that!” I growled. Olive put her hands up. “Sorry. Who is that talking to her?” “That is Jay Kirkland,” Maria said. Maria was only our friend because she was the daughter of the pack healer. So it ranked her high, and she could get us booze and other fun drugs. Maria was chubby, and mother said she might grow into it, but so far she hasn’t. She had dark brown hair and eyes. She will do anything to please us, to be our friend, and we use that as much as we can. We all whipped our heads to look at them. “The Jay Kirkland?” Kellyanne asked. We all knew about Jay. Captain of the football team, and soon to be alpha of the Clover Pack. He was already sixteen, and he was looking for his mate before he went off to alpha training. I still had a few years before I got to find out who my mate was. But Jay was single, and I was ready to do some bad things to get closer to him. Before I could go over there, the bell rang. Me and the ladies had to go another way from Nihil and Jay. That frustrated me. I wonder if I had any classes with him? Maria was whispering about something as we turned the corner and walked to our class. I had mostly leisure classes, because one day I was going to be Luna of my pack. My job is to serve my powerful husband, bear his children, and be treated like the queen I am. “Hey there, pretty,” a dark-haired guy said, as I sat in front of him. “Hey Mark,” I said. Rolling my eyes as I felt him run his finger down my spine. “You want to sneak into a closet after class?” “Not with you.” I watched as two handsome twins walked in. They had dark hair and crystal blue eyes. The teacher looked at them. “Jacobos, you are in the wrong class.” One glared at the teacher. “We need Darla.” “You can speak with Darla after class.” I looked around for this Darla. She was sighing as she got up. “If I don’t go now, they will never leave, Mr. Daniels.” “Triplets,” Olive said. They are the beta kids of the Timber pack, and the first of their kind being triplets. I don’t want a beta; I want an Alpha. But they are handsome, and I didn’t want to not add them to my potential list of guys. “Why are they here, though?” I asked. “Their pack leader is old, and his brother’s family is supposed to be taking over the pack. He created a pact with the other tribes to let the kids go to school here so they could try to meet their mates. I heard your mother came from the Timber pack.” “Really,” I said, interested. But mother never talked about where she came from or her life before meeting father. “The guys are nice, but I don’t swing with girls,” Kellyanne said. “You don’t think they would get the same mate, do you?” Maria asked. “I heard sometimes twins get the same mate,” Olive whispered. “Are they pretty strong?” I asked. “I heard only one of the three got their wolves,” Maria whispered. “Pity.” Two Betas would make good mate material. “Maria, we love that you are a wonderful source of information,” I told her. The teacher started the class.
