Chapter 6

Sasha returned to her seat taking a quick glance at the two small parcels sitting on the table as Alistair pushed one in her direction, 'It's your choice whether you wish to accept it or not'. Ethan tossed the other package towards Jason, who caught it with ease. 'what is it?' he asked as he curiously shook the gift near his ear. 'Open it and you'll find out' Ethan grinned. Brother and Sister opened the small gifts in unison, inside each sat a small metal pin displaying a howling wolf silhouetted beside a cresent moon, embedded with beautiful sapphires. They matched perfectly with the one pinned to Ethan's jacket. Jason's eyes lit up 'NO WAY!' he exclaimed as he removed the broach, clipping it to his black T-shirt. Sasha remained mesmerised by the pin still sat in the box, 'This is too much' she whispered, 'We cant accept this not under these circumstances, not as an apology' 'It isn't part of an apology Sasha, I want both of you as my betas. Of course Jason will require further training. But you are among the best in the pack and like my brother I have the right to choose the wolves that stand by my side' Alistair announced. 'He isn't messing with you guys, Alistair spoke about it when Jason was accepted as a warrior' Ethan smiled 'You think I don't know Alistair lost a bet for you to bring him here' Sasha glared at Ethan, who struggled to hide his blushing cheeks. Alistair started laughing so hard it made the others jump out of thier skin. 'Whats so funny?' Sasha and Jason asked in unison. Ethan cleared his throat 'He won the bet' The siblings were stunned by the revelation before Sasha realised what that meant, 'You cant go running off to the borders again Alistair, when will you learn'. 'I won't be going on my own' and he looked across to Ethan. 'Your joking right?' Sasha held her hand to her head in disbelief, 'now your dragging Ethan into your crazy adventures, its dangerous, especially near the border' Jason tried to ask if he could tag along before the other cut him off and refused his attempted request. 'Thats not fair, your asking me to become your beta but I cant even come along to protect you if anything happens'. Sasha bit her lip, knowing her brother had a point and there were always safety in numbers. 'We're coming'. Now it was Alistair and Ethans turn to be shocked, but before they could respond Sasha continued. 'The more of us there are, the safer it will be. But we avoid the borders and if we come across anything remotely suspicious we come straight back' Ethan relaxed and turned to Alistair, 'sounds fair to me'. Alistair agreed on the condition that they left that night, so he could bask in the light of a full moon.
