Sixteen A week after agreeing to the holiday on the peninsula, Paul was cleaning out Josie’s drawer in the filing cabinet when he came across her journals. He knew they existed but had forgotten where she kept them. She’d obviously thrown some of them out, as there were only six of the exercise books she had used as her journals at the back of the drawer. The one at the front of the group had writing on the first few pages but the others were full of her thoughts. At first he hesitated, not sure whether he should read them or just throw them out. When they had started journaling, they had agreed not to read each other’s journals, unless invited to read a passage the writer wanted to share.
