The Duplicates: Our Lives, Our Fates

It was in late summer that Y university welcomed its first year students for another session. Students with luggages and excitement on their faces can be seen at the entrance of the university dragging their suitcases into the school. Some of the students were accompanied by their parents who also had pride on their faces. Their pride wasn't without reason as Y university was one of the top universities in the country. And their children being able to be admitted into the school was an acknowledgement of their excellence. It was in the middle of all these activities that a lone beautiful girl in white shirt and skinny jeans dragging her suitcase walked to the front of the university also gazing with no expression at the boldly written name of the school but if you looked closer, you could see the excitement in her eyes which showed she wasn't as calm as she looked. The excitement in her eyes formed a huge contrast against the otherwise cold expression on her face. Y university had always been her dream school and finally through pure hard work and persistence, she was able to get admitted. She couldn't be considered a genius but she made it up with her hard work and finally, countless nights of studying finally paid off. She clutched nervously onto the shoulder bag where her admission letter was and took a deep breath before taking a step towards the place she had dreamed of countless times. She thought in her heart, 'Y University, here I come!' ..... Walking out of the office after completing her registration and also obtaining her dormitory number, a bright smile made its way onto her face stunning both the first year students who had also come to register and some seniors who stared at her with a dumbfounded and confused expression. Probably feeling their fervent gazes, Olivia Andrews turned towards them before nodding politely at them with a faint smile and left the premises gracefully, oblivious to a particularly fervent gaze from a guy. Whispers came from behind her but Olivia had no mind to pay attention to them. Unbeknownst to her, one of first year students had taken a side profile picture of her when she was leaving and posted it on the school forum with the caption, 'I met a beauty today' Commenter 1: Wow! Who is this beauty? Commenter 2: Is she a first year student? She is really pretty! Commenter 3: Why didn't the OP post her full picture? This can't satisfy my curiosity but i will make do（＾_＾）. .... Commenter 10*: But her side profile really looks familiar tho.... ...... Commenter 110: Is she really a first year student? ...... Commenter 111: Upstairs, can't you see her dragging a suitcase? And the picture was captured at the front of registrations office. Commenter 110: Can't you guys see that she looks exactly like the cold beauty? But the cold beauty is supposed to be in Country Z participating in a competition, so she shouldn't be in school at the moment. Commenter 112: First year student here, Please who is the cold beauty?(◎_◎;) Commenter 113: Just know she is someone you can only look up to in this life! ..... The subject of their discussion was currently excitedly strolling around the school's premises and dragging her suitcase behind her, her bright eyes taking in the scenery hungrily unaware that she had become the scenery in other people's eyes. Maybe she finally felt she had walked around enough for today, she turned to walk towards the dormitory buildings. Getting there, she checked the dormitory number which she was assigned to and stopped in front of a room before pushing it open. There were already other occupants inside the room, presumably her roommates. "Hi! I am Chloe Wright and I am majoring in Finance", A petite and cute girl with blonde hair greeted her with a bright smile the moment she saw her come in. It was obvious that she was what people might call a social butterfly. It wasn't meant as an offence but rather someone that opens up to people easily and is good at socializing and mixing around with other people. After which she turned to the other girl who looked at her quietly who seemed like an harmless and gentle girl and gestured towards her ,"This is Emma Johnson. She is also a Finance major as well." Olivia smiled faintly as she stretched out her hand to her, generously introducing herself. "Hi, I am Olivia Andrews. Nice meeting you two. I also happen to be a Finance major" Chloe and Emma both replied while the latter continued saying with surprise and excitement on her face. "Nice meeting you too, Olivia!". "Wow! So you are also a finance major! It seems like the school put students studying the same major in the same room! We just have to see if its true when our last roommate arrives!" Olivia was also a bit surprised when she initially heard that two of her roommates was also studying the same major so she nodded slightly at Chloe's words and eyed the bunks which had not been taken. She noticed that both Chloe and Emma had both taken the top bunks, that meant only the bottom bunks were not taken. She then dragged her suitcase over to one of the bottom beds and started sorting out her stuff. As she sorted her belongings, she listened to Chloe talk and gave appropriate answers when she should while Emma just gave soft 'hum' sounds. From their conversations, Olivia could guess what kind of person her roommates were; Chloe is a social butterfly and should also have a very good temper though she could act 'princessy' sometimes which can be excusable since she 'inadvertently' revealed the fact that she had rich parents. But that was if you could ignore the pride and on her face when she said it. And Emma.... How should say it?.. Though she seems harmless and quiet, every word that comes out of her mouth seemed calculated. It couldn't help but make people feel weird but she really hoped she was the one thinking too much as she still wanted to have a peaceful time while in the dorm. Though, she feels that she shouldn't conclude this early as some people hides their true nature deeply. So, that aside... That leaves only one roommate left, she only hopes she can be someone she can live with. Speak of the devil! A tall curvy girl in a gorgeous red mini dress that tightly hugged her curves opened the door and stepped into the room in stiletto heels. "Hi roommates!", she opened her brightly painted red lips to greet as she scanned around the room then came into a complete stop on Olivia's face as her eyes widened. "...You!... Why are you here?" Olivia rolled her eyes and put her hands on her hips as she replied sarcastically, "And can you please tell me why can't i be here, Miss Zoe Wilson?" Chloe and Emma looked at the two of them curiously, guessing if there was bad blood between them. Zoe Wilson marched angrily over to Olivia and pointed exasperatedly at her as she rampaged. "You are seriously haunting me like a ghost! Why do you also have to follow me to this school?!!!! Was high school not enough? Why do you still have to follow me here!," Olivia spread her hands almost as exasperatedly though a cold light flashed past her eyes. "Shouldn't I be the one saying that? I've really had enough of your pretty face." The bad blood between them was pretty simple but also a bit complicated. After Olivia's dad divorced her mom, he became Zoe's step dad and then in high school, Zoe was supposed to be elected as the school beauty but the voters felt that Olivia was prettier than her so she ended up being the winner though she didn't even compete since she was immersed in her studies back then. But Zoe as someone who loved being the center of attention felt that she stole her title as the school beauty and detested her for it. So the two of them since then had became fire and water. Made speechless by her, Zoe glared at Olivia and stormed over to the only empty bed and sat down with a huff, completely forgetting to introduce herself to Chloe and Emma.
