The secret world

Chapter one Tina- “Tina” I hear my teacher say as I’m writing my thoughts down on my paper. I look up to see her looking annoyed that I’m working on something else. “What” I said to my teacher. Thinking that I will get sent out of the room and can just go home early. How wrong I was. When I looked up she was staring at me with her arms crossed. “Why can’t you just pay attention when I’m teaching? “ I can’t say or think of anything to say. All I wanted was for summer to be here. This was my last day of high school. I was so ready for it to all end so I thought. When I got home from school my mom told me that we would be going to her home town to visit our old friends. We haven’t been back there since my dad passed away two years ago. After dinner I went to my room to pack my bag in the car to leave in the morning. I wasn’t as excited about going to a small town called Evergreen, Alaska. I'm always so cold when we go there. Though I never complain, I know how important it is to my mom when we go. When we got to Evergreen my mom had a smile from ear to ear. It was nice to see her smile like that again. It's been so long I don’t know much about the history here other than my mom grew up here. My grandparents had passed away when I was just a baby so I didn’t get to know them. I wish mom would talk about them. It’s been hard losing them and my dad for her. I never really realized just how incomplete we were without them. When we finally got to my grandparents house I went inside to look around. It had been two years since I was last here but everything looked the same as we left it. I was sixteen then looking back I’ve really missed this place. I had a friend here but haven’t talked to him in years. He probably wouldn’t remember me now. As I look around all the great memories I had here I started to cry. I didn’t even realize when my mom walked in when she wrapped her arms around me telling me everything would be okay. We got settled in and made dinner. We had already stopped by the store and grabbed things. We ate dinner then sat on the porch just talking about all the memories here and we laughed. The evening was great. We haven't talked like this in months. It was nice to have mom back and not see her cry all the time. This is the most peaceful place that we have ever gone to. Being out of a big town with nothing but woods and a big lake around us. The house is bigger as well which is nice. I woke up early in the morning, not able to go back to sleep. I decided to get dressed and head out for a morning walk. I walked out in the woods like I did when I was younger. The chill morning air made my skin feel relaxed and calm. I loved being able to get out and walk here. The woods and lake were my go to places to just relax. Mom never was one to enjoy it like I do. It’s like a slice of heaven here, almost magical. An hour later I made it back to the house to mom making breakfast. “ What are you making?” I already know the answer. She always makes pancakes and bacon the first morning we are here. It never changes moms, not one for much change. It's harder on her than it is on me. When we finished eating we went to town to look and see what all was new. Like most small towns there’s not much new. Spending time with mom is great in all but I like my alone time as well. When we got back I went upstairs to my room and got my book and headed to the lake to read. I got into my book for a long time before I noticed it’s getting dark and needed to get home. As I’m walking home I can’t help but feel an uneasy feeling in my gut like I’m being followed but I don’t see anything. I feel this way all the way home. I don’t dare tell my mom about it. She wouldn’t let me go back out there again. So for the next few days I do the same thing but never get that feeling again. Till a week passes by and like every day before I go out to read and I head home. Well this time I got the feeling again. I look around to see if I see anyone, nothing but deer. I still can get the feeling to go away. As the feeling stays with me. I start walking home and someone grabs me. I can’t speak or scream, panic floods over me thinking what’s going to happen to me. The last thing I remember was being thrown to the ground. I woke up at home in my bed. Confused, I walked out to the kitchen. Mom looked at me with a smile on her face. “How did I get back here?” Mom looked at me puzzled. “ You walked home sweetheart. How I got back I have no clue I can’t remember walking back. I stayed home the next few days trying to remember what happened and how I got back home. Still not sure I went back to the lake and looked to figure out what happened to me. Nothing happened, not even a weird gut feeling or anything. I was in town getting stuff for my mom. I saw this guy. He was tall and handsome. He was built like one of those guys you see on t.v. When I realized I was staring he just happened to look over at me and I just looked away, paid for my things and left. I figured I wouldn’t run into him anymore after that. When I got home I put everything away and hugged mom and went out like normal. On my way home I had another feeling but this one was different. It was more like fear then just a presence.I kept walking and the fear started turning into pain. I walked till the pain was so bad I couldn’t walk and I stopped. Once it passed I went home not thinking about it anymore. It was definitely new and I wasn’t sure if it was like any other pain I felt. It was like my insides were exploding. The next day I didn’t feel good therefore I stayed home in bed resting. I rested for three days. I was just so out of it after the pain I felt. It never happened again, it was strange. Today I decided to just walk around and explore like I did with my dad. I got pretty far from my house and it was getting late. I walked home and it was getting dark and darker. The light I had at this point was the full moon and my phone. Not knowing where I was really I stopped to take a look around to see if I remember anything. Then the pain happened but this time it was way worse. I felt like I was dying. I fell to the ground in pain not able to scream or anything.Then I felt hands on me and a deep and smooth voice. But I could barely hear him as I was in and out of consciousness. Then I heard a voice that I’ve not heard before. Don’t worry the pain will go away with time. It’s nice to finally meet you Tina. My name is Rain and I’m your wolf.” Wolf what I don’t have a wolf. When I woke up I was in the hospital unable to remember what happened. Mom was sitting in a chair next to me. When I looked around in the far corner was the guy I saw in town sitting in my hospital room. What was going on here? When my mom noticed I was awake she hugged me so tight. “What happened, why am I in the hospital?” When my mom didn’t answer I was so confused I looked to the guy in the corner. “Why did you bring me here? I was fine, who do you think you are.” I was so angry I didn't go to the hospital for a reason. It was the last place I saw my dad before he died. When I got home mom wouldn’t let me leave the house for weeks. It was starting to get on my nerves. All I wanted to do was go out and read my book. That guy that brought me to the hospital found out his name was Nick Dodger. He comes by every now and then to see how I’m doing but I don’t really talk to him. It’s mostly my mom that speaks to him. I'm not really a big fan of the whole stranger being in my hospital room or my house for that fact. Mom on the other hand thinks it's sweet that he comes and checks on me. When I find it all a little unsettling. I don't even know this guy, he's just a guy that saved me and now wont leave. This morning I got up before my mother. That way I would be able to go out and read without her knowing that's what I was doing. When I got to my favorite spot the sun was just coming up. The sight was just astonishing that I didn't even notice that someone was coming up behind me. Till I heard a big thud behind me. I turned around so fast it made me dizzy. Then I realized it was just Nick but how did he know where to find me. I was up before daylight. This guy just keeps getting weirder and weirder. “What on earth are you here and at this time of day don't you know you could have given me a heart attack. Are you following me or something like this is just creepy dude. No one likes to be followed its not cool.'' I said as I was trying to catch my breath he really did scare me. Once I had caught my breath I looked at him and he was smirking with amusement. Where I just wanted to slap him. But I didnt I just glared at him and went to my book hoping he would go away. Boy was I wrong. He just stayed there. It was a little weird. Out into the woods I heard a wolf. When I turned to ask Nick if he heard it too but he was gone. It was all so strange to me. I dont remember the wood being so strange and have this scent of apple pie and camp fire scent before. It was a calming feeling it made me feel at pease. Mom and grandma never let me leave the yard. I finally had enough and headed back home. It was around noon by now mom is probably freaking out. Even though I left a note on the fridge. She seems to freak out everytime I go out and she doesn't read the note. When I got home mom wasnt to happy that I had went out there again after that episode I had late time. I promised her that I would turn on my location and text her when I got there and left. With that she said I could keep going as long as I did that. Its been
