Every time the dream comes back, it starts the same way.

A dark forest. A pregnant woman close to death. A husband with nothing left but fear and hope fighting inside him.

And me… standing there, watching everything happen. Unable to move. Unable to help. As if I don’t exist.

What should have been a simple tragedy turns into something much bigger. A meeting with a being everyone fears. An act of mercy that should never have happened. And a child whose birth goes against what destiny had decided. That night, deep in the forest of the Praying Mantis, something changes—quietly, but forever.

Years later, in the bright Kingdom of the Sun, a king is trapped by an impossible choice. He needs an heir. A prophecy has failed him. And a hidden child—born lifeless, yet refusing to stay that way—becomes the key to saving a throne… at a price no father should ever have to pay.

Between dreams and reality, magic and sacrifice, **Prince Zed** is the story of a child claimed by fate, raised in secrets, and born from a decision that was never meant to be made.

Some lives begin with a first breath.

Others begin with a stolen soul.

The Dream That Wouldn’t End
Prince Zed: I had this dream again... Once again I found myself in the kingdom of the Praying Mantis. Under this dark sky, in the heart of this forest whose vegetation is freaking out, you could hear a woman screaming with all her might. This woman is pregnant, and everything suggests that it is her time to give birth. She was accompanied by her husband who was trying to tighten the bolts holding the cart' tires. But the cries of pain of his wife will not be without effect. The husband, unable to concentrate on tightening the bolts, gets up very quickly and drags his wife out of the cart. He unties the horse carrying the cart. “We will have to continue on horseback,” said the husband to his wife, his eyes full of sadness. He tries to get his wife on the horse, but once she is mounted, she will be knocked down by the horse, which then escapes. The husband runs to the aid of his wife, now finding herself in a downed and in poor condition. Now unable to do anything, he sits on the floor, stretches his feet to rest his wife's head on his thighs and begins to cry. “We don't even have a lamp, I can't see your face, his wife told him, who was gradually losing her breath. "Wait, I have an idea." said the husband, putting his hand in the porch of his jacket and taking out a small torch which he lights. The light from this torch was so weak that it didn't even illuminate the husband's whole face. What hurts me the most about my dream is that every time I do it, I can't even act. I remain standing, doing nothing but watching the scene. During my dream, no desire to help the couple crosses my mind and despite my proximity they too do not see me. Once again I have to watch them go through the same things without doing anything: "I should have not insisted." blamed the wife. "No, no. Don't say that," her husband forbade her. "But we're in this s**t because of me" defended the wife in a very weak voice. I'm dying and I don't think my baby will survive, she adds crying. "I won't let that happen, I will find a solution." said the husband trying to get up. "There is no solution, I will die as well as the child I am carrying..." "No, don't say that. I'll find a solution," said the husband when suddenly he heard a creak of wood coming from in front of them. When I first had this dream, I believed the cracking they heard was from my level. But no: "Did you hear? Someone is approaching, it seems," the wife was saying. Neither husband nor wife looked where I was standing. "Who can it be, he's not coming to help us." said the husband. "How can you be sure?" asks his wife. "We're going to die here if that person in the woods approaches us, I can never forgive myself...he's going to eat us, he's probably one of the cannibals that roams this forest." "Stop scaring me, please" said the very scared wife. You are not sure of anything. She adds. "My father always told me the story of this forest. It's not for nothing that people don't like to take it despite it being the fastest way to reach the kingdom of the sun." "So he's coming for us?" asked the much panicked wife. "Even if that's the case, I'm not going to let him hurt you" the husband promises and hugs his wife. He headed into the woods. I immediately followed them. “He won't be able to follow us if he doesn't see us,” whispered the husband to his wife. Despite the pain the woman felt, she remained silent. She had her eyes fixed on her husband. She might be remembering their best moments, memories to allow her to stay the course and not to panic in front of this danger which awaits them currently. The husband took a step forward and a second to find himself behind yet another tree. "I think we managed to escape him," said the husband. "No, he's still there" I said before remembering that they didn't hear anything I said to them. "Fortunately I have nothing to do with you" said a voice coming from the other side of the tree under which the couple is. A year ago, this dream ended here. But for this night went beyond. I didn't expect it at all. I become very curious about this part that I have long loved to see. I always wanted to know what ultimately happened to this couple and the child the woman was carrying. Finally I had the opportunity. "Hum?” the husband had just noticed the presence of the man he had been fleeing for fifteen minutes. "Nevertheless, I find you brave, young man" continued the man. "What do you want from us?" asks the husband. "I'm a Chakak" replies the man. "A chakak? It's over for you," I said. I was really far from imagining what will happen next: "A chakak... I know what you want but can you at least spare my wife? She is pregnant..." begged the husband. The wife having heard that, will no longer be satisfied with silence, she gives in and cries out following the contraction in her stomach. "A chakak is always feared. You take us all for cannibals. Even if we eat human flesh, that doesn't make us the monsters you think. We are humans like you too. But I don't believe that there's enough time to discuss this. I'm willing to help you." let the Chakak know. "How can I trust you?" asks the husband. The Chakak chuckled for a moment. I automatically thought he was going to kill him already, I was already crying for this couple. But fortunately for them I will say. "A wink is enough to kill someone. I've been next to you for millions of winks. If you still don't want to trust me then..." the chakak told him. "Okay, I'll follow you," the husband said, interrupting the chakak. The chakak comes out from behind the tree, he lights a torch. This lights up her face. The husband and his wife, snuff with fear seeing what he looked like. "Appearances can be deceiving." said the chakak. "I feel the baby..." "You can't give birth in this forest, your baby won't be able to see the sun if it's ever born in such a place." let the chakak know. "We are going to the kingdom of the sun" said the husband. "I know and I'll take you there" says the chakak and snaps his fingers. In the blink of an eye, they found themselves in a place, inside a room. The husband and his wife did not know where they were. They looked around the room. "You are in my room, in fact where I lived when I was still one of them, you are in the kingdom of the sun" said the chakak. "You teleported us then?" questioned the husband who was still holding his wife in his arms. He approached the chakak but the latter took a step back. "I helped you because of this child that your wife is carrying, I hope you would do everything so that he does not die. No need to tell you that he has a great destiny awaiting him" says the Chakak as his body decayed until there was nothing left of his body. "He disappeared?" questioned the wife. "No, he's dead" replies the husband with a sad look. This is the first time in my life that I see a chakak helping someone. Usually chakaks enjoy killing people and eating them. They are the cruelest people in the world according to what I have always been told. On the other hand what caught my attention is that chakak also uses magic. I really didn't understand anything anymore. Suddenly the bedroom door opens. Two young women and an old woman enter. They were amazed to see the husband and his wife. The color of these women's eyes! "Chivas" I say, moving closer to them. But they also did not see me. "He succeeded" said the old woman. "Who are you, please?" asks the husband, it was obvious that he was really scared. "Don't be afraid, we are not bad people. I am Bali, here is our mother Yavala and on the other side you have my sister Luna" said the young girl standing next to the old woman. But the man was still not convinced. The young girl on the right of the old lady pronounces a short incantation and the husband loses consciousness and falls while the body of his wife remains suspended in the air. "Don't waste any more time" Orders the old woman and leaves the room. The two young girls move towards the pregnant woman by pronouncing magic words. Once near her, they each place their left hand on the woman's belly. In the next few moments, the woman gave birth. "The baby is not crying!" Luna, one of the two girls, was surprised. "He is dead" Bali, the second daughter confirmed. "I have an idea" Luna says and they both leave the room. This is where my dream of that night ended. It leaves me even more eager to know what happened next. I'm obsessed with knowing what happened to this child and his parents, I still don't know why.
