Julianne's POV
I woke up early that morning, feeling the usual mix of excitement and nervousness. I’d been training with Laura for weeks now, and she’d told me that today was going to be different. She said I was improving quickly and that she had something special to teach me. I wasn’t sure what it was, but I was eager to find out.
I met Laura in the clearing outside the house, the place where we usually practiced; we had shifted from the normal training room to the clearing towards the sea, where she had taken me the other day. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a soft glow over everything. I could hear the birds waking up too, their songs filling the air. I tried to steady my breathing, focusing on the calmness around me. Laura looked at me with a smile as I approached.
