Felix walked up to me again,I turned to Felix and apologized, "Hey, I'm so sorry about earlier. I was really rude to you." Felix smiled and waved his hand dismissively. "No problem, Yvonne. I understand. Would you like to leave this noisy place and take a walk along the hallway?" I agreed, and we stood up. I staggered a little, looking around for Xayden, but he was nowhere to be found. I followed Felix, and we entered the hallway. The hallway was long and elegantly decorated, with rooms on either side. The walls were adorned with intricate paintings, and the floor was covered with a plush carpet. The hallway stretched out before us, disappearing into the distance. We walked in silence, our footsteps muffled by the carpet. As we walked, Felix asked, "So, are you lodging here for the night?" "I don't know," I admitted. "I'm not really sure what Xayden's plans are." Felix nodded. "I'm lodged here, and my room is just nearby. Would you like to come in and sit down? We can talk more comfortably." I declined, preferring to continue our walk. But Felix persisted. "You're staggering, Yvonne. You need to relax. Just for a little while," he coaxed. "I'm fine, really," I said, but Felix's concern was starting to win me over. I looked around, feeling a bit uneasy. The hallway was quiet, with only a few people passing by. I didn't know Felix well, but there was something about him that put me at ease. Maybe it was the wine, or maybe it was just my desire to escape Xayden's annoying presence. Whatever it was, I found myself agreeing to go to Felix's room. I followed Felix to his room, my heart racing with a mix of excitement and trepidation. As we reached room 105, Felix slid his card over the door handle, and it beeped open. He entered, then turned to me and said, "Come in." I took a step inside, but suddenly, my instincts screamed at me to stop. I hesitated, my foot hovering above the floor. "No, no, I can't," I said, trying to retreat. But Felix was too quick. He grabbed my arm, pulling me further into the room. I tried to shake him off, but he held tight. I screamed, trying to wriggle free, but Felix's grip only tightened. In a flash, I slipped on my heels and fell, hitting my head on the bedside table. Everything went black. I opened my eyes, my head hurting like hell, to see myself strapped in a bedsheet and Xayden putting me into the car. I asked, my voice shaking, "What happened?" Xayden's expression softened, and he replied, "You're safe now, Yvonne”. XAYDEN’S POV As Yvonne came downstairs, I couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked. I had to look away quickly, not because I liked her, but because the outfit was nice. I didn't want to give her the wrong idea. At the party, I didn't want introduce her to anyone as my wife unless they asked . This is a forced marriage, and I'm divorcing her soon. She walked away, and I saw some guy approach her. They spoke for a while, and she looked at me when he touched her. Like what is she expecting? I don't care if they like each other; they should get a room. I continued talking to different people, noticing Yvonne filling her glass with more drink. Who cares? I wouldn't have even brought her here if I didn't have to. I took a walk with one of my shareholders and returned to find Yvonne missing. I sent Tyler to look for her, and he came back saying she was entering a room with a guy. Unbelievable. "Tyler, go get the receptionist to come with the room spare card," I instructed. Tyler soon came back and I followed them to the room . When we opened the room, I saw the bastard on top of Yvonne, caressing her neck lustfully. I dragged him down and punched the life out of him. "You bastard, I'm not done with you yet," I said, leaving him motionless on the floor. I turned to Yvonne, who wasn't moving. I wrapped her in the bedsheet and carried her out to the car. A lot of eyes were fixed on me, but at that moment, I cared about her. "Huh, silly little woman, look what she did to herself," I said. I put her in the car and she woke up asking “what happened” “Your safe now Yvonne” I said to her regretting it immediately. YVONNE ’S POV I sat in the car, clutching the bedsheet around me like it was a lifeline. Xayden glanced at me, then looked away, his expression unreadable. "Tyler, drive fast," he said. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Xayden, the man who had treated me with indifference and disdain, was now showing concern for me. It was a foreign concept, and I didn't know how to process it. The car ride was a blur, but soon we arrived at the house. I hastily exited the vehicle, still wrapped in the bedsheet, and rushed inside. I didn't stop until I reached my room, where I locked the door behind me and collapsed onto the bed. As I lay there, trying to make sense of the events that had transpired, I couldn't shake off the feeling that Xayden's behavior had been a fluke. He didn't care about me; he was just protecting his investment. Xayden burst into my room, his face twisted in anger. "What is wrong with you?" he demanded. "If you so badly wanted to be in another man's bed, why didn't you wait for another time? Why did it have to be tonight, when I asked you to accompany me?" I tried to explain, "Xayden, I'm not myself right now... I drank too much... I didn't want to have s*x with him..." But Xayden cut me off, his voice rising. "Oh, shut up! Don't try to defend yourself. You're just making excuses." I stood up, my anger matching his. "Don't do that, Xayden. Don't try to push the blame on me. You could have at least introduced me properly as your wife. Instead, you made a mockery of me. You neglect and ignore me. You treat me like trash." I dropped the bedsheet and walked to the bathroom, my undies the only thing I was wearing. Xayden was left standing there, speechless. He turned and left the room, slamming the door behind him. I locked the bathroom door and leaned against it, trying to process the emotions swirling inside me. I was angry, hurt, and confused. Why did Xayden care now, when he had never shown any interest in me before? And why did I still feel a spark of attraction towards him, despite everything? I came downstairs the next morning. I walked into the dining room, expecting a quiet morning, but instead, I found Caroline sitting with Xayden. "What is she doing here?" I asked, trying to keep my cool. Xayden stood up, his expression stern. "Enough, Yvonne." He headed upstairs to pick up his suitcase for work, leaving me alone with Caroline. Caroline stood up, a smug look on her face. "Hey, listen, you should learn to stay on your own path. It’s clear enough that you and I are on different paths." "I know I'm the one who saved Xayden," I said, trying to assert myself. "Why did you have to lie?" Caroline sneered. "Oh, please, you're just a loser. I'm the one who saved him, and he knows it." I remembered the time I confronted Xayden about it, but he ignored me. "You're a sneaky little snake," I spat at Caroline. She slapped me, and I licked my lips, returning the slap with even more force. Caroline stumbled back, and pretended to fall, just as Xayden came downstairs. "What's going on here?" he asked, his voice firm. Caroline pointed at me. "She hit me!" Xayden looked at me, his expression disapproving. "Don't try such things again, Yvonne." Then he turned to Caroline. "Let's go." I was flabbergasted. My supposed husband was siding with his side chick and even had the guts to bring her to our house. "You're unbelievable," I said, shaking my head. Xayden just turned and left with Caroline, leaving me standing there, feeling angry and betrayed. Later that night, Xayden came to my room, expecting to sleep with me, but I refused. "What's going on, Xayden?" I asked, trying to understand his behavior. "You bring your girlfriend to our house, humiliate me in front of her, and now you want to touch me?" He reminded me, "You're my wife." I laughed bitterly. "Don't remind me, Xayden. You keep telling me I'm not your wife, that this is just a forced marriage. But now you want to exercise your marital rights?" Xayden's expression turned cold. "Open your legs when I ask you to," he barked. "And do not question me."
