The party

"is everything ready?"Jay asked his nanny. He wanted the house workers to put everything in order before allowing them to leave. He didn't want them to be around since he knew such parties were always messy. Besides his parents allowing him to throw a party at the house, he still saw it as inappropriate for them to be there.

Being the only child he always has his way. He was trusted by his parents since he was responsible.

It was around 7 pm when his friend started to arrive. The party was to start at 8 pm. He kept staring at the door, he knew Ella would walk through the door any minute. Half past 8 and she wasn't there." The party has to continue", he thought to himself as he joined his boys.

"Too bad she didn't show up," Mike said

"Yeah, I threw this party because of her, I wanted to get close to her."

"Someone might hear you, "Mike whispered. The plan isn't to get close to her. it is to win this game, the sooner you go get this through you head the better." he added

"You should give me time, I'm planning to talk her into us choosing the same spot to spend the weekend. That would be the right time to accomplish our mission."

"And how will Dan and his guys believe something happened between the two of you."

"I have a plan, I'll tell you all about it when that time comes."

Ella was in bed contemplating whether to go to the party or not. Her friend fay from college had called her a thousand times convincing her to go to the party but she didn't feel like it.

Her friend Gianna had called her earlier telling her she was on her way to her place. They lived miles away and the last time they were together was the new years Eve party.

The doorbell ringing pulled her out of her thoughts. She put on her sandals and ran down the stairs.

"Wow, look at you, you look good," she said hugging her.

"Thank you, and you look messy," Gianna said laughing.

They had known each other since they were kids. Gianna was her nanny's kid and had grown together like siblings.

"I thought you told me something about a party, why ain't you ready?"

"You still love partying, I don't feel like going let's go upstairs you feed me with all the latest gossip."

"I'll tell you all about it on our way to the party, go and prepare."Gianna insisted. Ella complained as she headed to her room. She didn't want to disappoint her friend. She freshened up and wore a light blue dress, and simple makeup and left her hair loosely hugging her shoulders. She picked up her purse and headed downstairs to where Gianna was waiting.

"Is this how you are dressing nowadays? I can't go with you to a party dressed this way. "that's the first thing, Gianna said as soon as she saw Ella.

She pulled her back to her room and forced her to dress well." it's always our rule that we should always dress to kill no matter the occasion. "Gianna said

"I know but I don't have time to look for the right outfit. "

"I know but it's an overnight party so we can get there anytime. "

"Okay, you win. "Ella said wearing her shoes." I hope I look better. "she added

She had worn a black dress slightly above her knee and it was hugging her tightly, skilletoes and her favorite perfume.

"You look good. You will leave everyone staring. "Gianna complimented her friend.

"Are you sure I can still dance with these shoes, "Ella asked laughing

"we will pick you up if you fall. "she answered back

Jay's house was across the street so they had to walk. Loud music was playing when they got to the party. As soon as they opened the door, all eyes were on them. They walked in as if they owned the place.

There were murmurs heard there." wow they look beautiful, "who's the other girl," "they arrived late to attract attention."

That did not bother them., they walked majestically scanning the room, they were trying to locate Jay.

"The queen is here," Davies said sarcastically

"Ashley," Jay asked so concernedly

"yes," he answered. Jay didn't believe what he heard. They all turned and saw them as they approached.

"Glad you could make it," Jay said

"I couldn't miss this," Ella said as she started to introduce her friend. "This is Gianna, my childhood friend." "Gianna this is Jay, mike, and Davies," he added

Jay offered them a drink after the introductions. Gianna was confused, Jay looked so familiar but she couldn't figure out where he had seen him. She tried to ignore whatever she was thinking but it was hard.

"is everything alright?" Ella asked

"No something is off, " Gianna responded

"What do you mean, are we in some kind of danger?" Ella asked looking so worried. Jay realized that and went to where they were standing.

"Is there a problem.?" he asked

"No, we are fine," Ella responded so fast she did not want Gianna saying something stupid

Gianna couldn't take her eyes off jay, she had figured out where he had seen Jay. Without a warning, she pulled out of that place. Jay was left wondering what was wrong with them.

"I need to tell you something but don't freak out."

"Spill it already, what's going on you are scaring me," Ella whispered back

"He is the man you kissed that night?"

"Which night?"

"The new year's eve party at the club."

"No, you must be joking., tell me it isn't true."

"Trust me, he's the one. The tattoo on his hand confirms it all."

"No, this can't be what do I do," Ella started to panic. "What if he already knows?" she added

"you should relax I'm sure he doesn't know, he would have confronted you." Gianna tried all she could to make her calm down.

"We should get out of this place," Ella said as she made her way to the door. She was confronted by Jay as she was about to open the door.

"You having problems with your friend," he said

Jay was watching them from a distance and he thought maybe they are arguing.

"No, we were just chatting," she responded without looking at him. She was so nervous

"Mind if you have a drink with me?" Ella didn't respond, she was thinking of what to say to get out of that place. "what if he already knows?" she thought to herself.

When she didn't say a word, Jay held her hand and led her to the balcony. " I know you are not okay, you can get some air here and once you are relaxed you can come inside. Just call if you need anything," he said and left

All this time Dan was watching with envy what was going on. He couldn't imagine Jay would outshine him again. First with Ashyle and now with Ella. The more he was thinking about it the more he drank. Within a short time, he was so drunk. All he wanted to do now was to accomplish the mission. "win the game.".

"It's now or never," he thought to himself. As soon as Jay left, he joined Ella.

"Looking good tonight," he said. Ella wasn't in the mood of talking to anyone he ignored him.

"What's going on between you and Jay," he inquired

"Nothing, why?"

"I'm interested in you, I don't want to cause any problems between the two of you," he said trying to get close to her.

"You are drunk," Ella said moving away from him.

Dan got angry and grabbed her.

"you are mine, Ella," he said as tried to force himself on her., she let out a scream.

Within no time jay was there, he grabbed Dan by the shoulder and pushed him away. He fell on the ground with a thud

He attempted to fight back but he was too drunk.

Jay moved to Ella's side and hugged her, "as you hurt?"

"I'm fine," she said crying

"Jay isn't the person you think he is, you can not trust him," Dan said trying to get up.

Jay knew where he was headed, he signaled mike and Davies to take him out of there.
