Ava's POV I lowered my gaze so Jasper would not see the storm in my eyes. “We will talk tomorrow,” I said quietly. “You should get some sleep tonight.” Jasper looked like he wanted to ask more questions. But before he could speak again, I started humming. Then singing. The lullaby slipped out softly, the way it always had. It was a song I had learned years ago… in prison. Back then, the nights had been long and cold, full of restless wolves pacing inside their cages.
