{Maisie’s POV}
I waited for what felt like forever before she came back. She had a platter filled with shots, and nachos. She sat it down in the center of our table. “Alright, there are four for each of us!” She cheered, grabbing the first one and downing it, just what have I gotten myself in to?
I downed the first one, and shook slightly as the bitter taste settled in my mouth. “Aren’t you supposed to get a drink to chase this with?” I asked, looking down at the other three shots she had gotten for me.
She shrugged, “Come on, it’s just a little vodka!” She snickered before downing her second one. I followed in suit, downing the second and third one quickly. I wanted to get this over with, I groaned as I picked up my final shot and quickly downed it.
Once it was down, I grabbed a nacho and dipped it in the cheese and ate it quickly. The taste beginning to drive out the awful aftertaste of vodka. Sadly, with those four shots taken so quickly, I was already beginning to feel buzzed. I watched as she downed the rest of her shots before lifting her arms in the air and yelling. “Fu** yeah!” She shouted, slamming down the shots.
My whole body began to feel warm, and I slowly took off my coat, setting it down on my seat. “I can tell you do this often!” I laughed, watching her begin to dance in place.
“Only every weekend!” She laughed, before running to my side. “Come dance with me!” She grabbed my hands pulling me from my chair.
“No, no, no! You know I don’t dance!” I said, trying to pull my hands free, but she was dragging me to the dance floor.
She grabbed my waist and pulled my back against her. “Well I’m going to give you a crash course! You ready?” She laughed.
Her bubbly attitude was infectious, and I couldn’t help but laugh as she pulled my butt against her. “What are you doing?” I giggled out, beginning to feel a little tipsy.
“I’m going to teach you how all of the girls dance in the club. Now, throw your hips in a circle, grind them against me.” She said, her hands on my waist.
My body felt hot, and I was embarrassed, I could see people looking at us, mostly men watching our every movement. I did as she said, throwing my hips in a circle, before turning to face her. We danced together, letting loose and having fun. It was the first time that I’d had fun in years.
{Angelo’s POV}
Margo brought me out tonight because she was worried about me. That, and she wanted a night away from the twins, she’d been doing most of the heavy lifting at home, and needed a break, which I can understand. The twins just celebrated their 2nd birthday, and soon it would be Margo, Damon, and Carter’s two year wedding anniversary. They married not long after the twins were born.
I’ve completely taken over the company, and the family business, our brothers have begun to take a more laid back approach to most of the family business, and I get that. It’s been hard managing without them, but I have. My meeting with one of our informants from Italy was interrupted by a Russian street gang a week ago, and ever since Margo has been on my case about being more careful. She was in the middle of reprimanding me, and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes and look away. As I did, I caught a glimpse of something that threw me for a loop.
An absolutely gorgeous woman was dancing with another woman, I assumed they were friends with how much they were laughing. Watching the way that she danced had my heart pounding in my chest. I’d never felt this way about anyone else.. I never wanted to be close to a woman, but seeing her, her carefree smile. Her beautiful ginger hair, her milky, pale skin that was kissed with freckles. She made my mind race, along with my heart. Thinking of pulling her against me, kissing those pouty lips, and since the moment that she invaded my thoughts, I haven’t been able to focus on anything but her. I had to know her, to be close to her, but I knew that this wasn’t something that I could do. The world that I’m apart of, is too dangerous, just look at what happened to Margo. I shook away the images that my mind was flashing at me, and turned back to my drink. “What’s wrong Angel?” Margo asked, looking over at me. “You look flushed.”
“I’m fine bambina, finish your drink, and stop worrying about me! I told you everything worked itself out!” I rolled my eyes, downing the rest of my whiskey.
“The new scar across your eye tells me a different story Angelo! I know that you took over the business, but at least have the common decency to be more careful!” She shot at me, also rolling her eyes before she sunk back in her chair. “The twins would be miserable without you.. and I would too!” She sighed.
I reached over, touching her hand softly. “I know what I’m doing Margo, I’ve been doing this for years, now I’m just in charge.” I shrugged. “Everything will be fine!” I smiled, and so did she, and so we left it at that. I turned my attention back to the dance floor, and saw the woman walking up to the bar. She sat down, ordering a drink and once she got it she turned to look for her friend. She picked up her drink, taking a sip of it. I tried so hard to remain where I was, but I wanted to much to go talk to her.
I decided to go down to the bar and get myself another drink, maybe then I could talk to her. I stood up looking over to Margo. “I’m going to get another drink, do you want anything?” I asked.
“Tequila sunrise please!” She smiled, and I nodded as I turned and made my way to the bar.
