From Imagination into Reality

777 Words
Early the next morning, Gooky was the first one to get up. He rushed and woke up all others. They were all anticipating for how the day would go. Gooky then commanded the women to prepare breakfast, which they did very fast so that in no time, everyone was having what to eat. Jarod and his colleagues carried the equipment needed and Gooky led the way. Gooky made it clear that they were going to do selective felling for which reasons he had mentioned to them earlier. He reminded them only to cut down the trees which he showed them. After walking for a while, Gooky showed the fellers which tree they were going to start with. Jarod, who had been smiling, then turned gloomy. This is because he was a bit anxious on remembering what had happened to Kyle when he attempted to cut down a tree. Of course, it was him to go first. Therefore, all the others just directed their eyes towards him because he was the leader. Not to kill the morale of the others, he picked up his chainsaw. It appeared as if he was courageous enough but in his heart of hearts , he was complaining. It is because he was going to be used as the scapegoat to see what would happen. Jarod therefore started striding towards the tree. He was very scared but he kept on moving so as not to show his incapability to his new boss. One stride to the tree, he closed his eyes since he was ready to be sacrifice on behalf of all the others. You can imagine the looks on the faces of all the others. He went ahead to start cutting. After about a minute of cutting, on realizing nothing bad had happened, he opened his eyes and increased his strength. Fortunately, the tree finally fell down. He was extremely overjoyed after seeing that. The likes of Sheya, Jack and Peter were also left over the moon. They all expected their fears of the previous time to materialize into reality. Since what happened last time did not happen again, why not be happy? No sooner had the tree fallen down than Gooky showed all others the trees to cut down next. Gooky's group, as agreed, started chopping the tree that had been cut down into logs, timber and firewood. The fellers, who were very revitalized, courageously cut down each tree Gooky pointed at. The felling process took about two hours with not less than fifty trees cut down. This was evidence of the saying, "if you give the devil an inch, he takes a kilometer." Surprisingly, by the time they made fifty trees, it is Jarod who reminded him that he had said only twenty. Gooky was still willing to cut down more trees. Jarod could not fathom what was going on in Gooky’s mind. This is because he had quickly forgotten all the things he had said earlier. Nevertheless, Jarod remembered that his group only wanted the money and they had their houses in the city. Therefore, calamities on the island would not affect them. By midday, Gooky's group had finished preparing the firewood, poles and timber. They had already loaded it to one of their best ships. Everything was set for the first group to go. As planned, Jarod and Peter set off for the city from the island. This time Gooky took the risk of trusting them hoping they would return with the full money. Those that remained at the island turned their focus to burning the rest of the wood into charcoal. Jack and Sheya told Gooky not to worry since they had their loyal customers in the city. Therefore, selling all the products would not take a lot of time. All of them were really happy, but what about the innocent animals and birds? The innocent birds and animals were left homeless. They had become vagabonds because of some group of creatures that are selfish and only want to make themselves wealthier. Therefore, there was mass influx of animals and birds into the haunted forest as their new temporary home because they knew humans would attack that forest next. "Billy, Why did we change our plan? We would have done something to stop these humans from destroying our brothers and sisters. Now see, what happened back then is going to happen again," said Rose, the grandmother of trees in the haunted forest. Billy, the grandfather of the trees in that forest directed Jolly, one of the grandsons to promptly write a letter to Job and warn him about what was happening before the trees made there move.
