Stranded on the Island

594 Words
Jarod then asked about how the haunted forest came about because it was the only thing that beat his understanding. Even the others were also very curious to find out about it. One of the hunters said, “No one knows what really happened. Maybe, the one who collected the seeds might have picked up those from some sacred trees or the trees underwent favorable mutations to increase their chances of survival. The mutations might have led to the development of a generation of trees with the ability to talk and with hands so as to fight for their rights and stop being bullied by humans. Whatever the case, all I know is that as humans continue cutting down the normal trees, a time is going to come when only those trees will exist since they have the selective advantage. As the normal ones decrease, the other ones will increase in number and I assure that is not good at all to humanity. We either stop cutting down trees or we destroy that haunted forest before trees of that spread all over the world and overthrow humanity.” The concerns of the dwellers of the island seemed right but Jarod and his friends were not satisfied as all that was said was assumed. As the problem of humans is, everyone is selfish and only works for his own satisfaction. They do not care about the implications of whatever they do. Therefore, after that meeting, Gooky and the others moved out then locked the intruders in that hut. They then went to their respective huts to rest for the night. In the hut, Jarod and the others kept conversing and discussing about what they would do next. “Such a big island with a very small number of people! What is really happening?” asked Jack. “Will these guys release us tomorrow?” asked Peter. “What really is there plan?” Jarod replied, “I know there are very many unanswered questions but relax. We stick to the plan. Once we get out of here, we look for Kyle and we return to forest. We have no choice.” Jarod and the others spent over a week tied up in the hut and would only be left to move around and stretch in addition to easing themselves. Other than that, every other thing was delivered to them in their hut, which doubled as their prison. They kept on pleading so that they would be released but no one dared to say a word to them. It was really boring to them because they did not think it would take that long. As for Kyle, he kept moving but sluggishly since he was badly injured. During that time, he only survived on fruits from the trees since the trees had told him it was their role to provide for humans what to eat. Glancing from a distance, Kyle could also see another house after a week of trekking and struggling for survival. Unlike his colleagues, he had a g*n which he would use in case of any emergency. All along, he moved along with it in his hands. The closer he moved to the house, the clearer it became. This motivated him to keep on leaping so that he could reach there in a short time. In his mind, he thought the people he came with had left him already. He was also planning to get a way of leaving the island. It is why he was looking for some people to help him.
