I was lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling, lost in thought. My room was dimly lit, with only the soft glow of my bedside lamp casting warm light across the walls. The peaceful silence of the night was broken by the sudden ring of my phone.
I sat up, grabbing the phone from the nightstand. Mia’s name flashed on the screen. I smiled and picked it up.
“Hey, Mia” I said softly.
“Aurora!” Mia’s excited voice came through, a chuckle escaped from my lips.
“Guess what?”
“What?” I asked curiously.
“We’re going out tomorrow!” Mia exclaimed. My eyes widened in surprise.
“Wait… what do you mean?”
“Girls’ outing!” Mia said excitedly.
“It’s the weekend, and we’ve never gone out together. I’ve already planned everything. It’ll be fun!”
