Chapter 4

Amelia POV

Three months had passed since I brought him to the coven. He was still in vegetable state. Never showing any signs of waking up. He was almost healed but was still in a coma. I would make sure to check on him daily.

I would come in the morning to reset the fire then talk to him for some time. In this period, he had become my best friend because he listened to all my worries without judging me. How could he judge me! He doesn't even utter a single word or open his eyes.

Well then In the evening I would practice my spells along with him. Heal him and change his dressing. During the night after dinner, I would check on him again. I would make sure that the fire was set, the ward was on and a blanket covered him.

I now had complete knowledge of setting the fire. There was no electricity connection to the cave so I had to learn it. Coven members as well elders were starting to suspect me. Elder Caroline would often ask me about my sudden disappearance. Some lame excuses would save my ass every time. This is the exact reason I had refused Lily's presence in the cave. I don't want her in trouble because of me.

" A penny for your thoughts," Lily said breaking my train of thoughts.

"Just thinking about him It's been such a long time. When will he wake up? " I sighed.

" Don't know, maybe he doesn't want to wake up?" Lily said.

" I am going to check upon him. If someone asks about me cover for me " I said to her while walking out of the living room.

I sneaked into the cave.

" How are you today? " I asked him.

As always he didn't respond to me. I started working on the fire. I then sat beside him on the bed. I was examining him when suddenly I felt a movement of his fingers. My body froze. I looked at him in shock.

He stirred in his deep slumber, then slowly he opened his eyes adjusting to the bright light. He was examining his surroundings. Then his hazel eyes fell on me. They were as deep as the deepest depth of the ocean. We both kept staring at each other for what felt like hours but in reality, we were only a few minutes.

He opened his mouth to say something but couldn't do so. I quickly poured a glass of water and helped him drink it.

" Am I in hell or heaven, because it certainly looks like heaven, Angel! " He asked in a low raspy voice.

" God! His voice " I thought.

" You are on earth, devil!. Call it heaven or hell, both aren't willing to accept you yet. " I replied slowly.

I don't know why I called him devil but his tone was speaking this name.

" Good one," he commented.

He sat on the bed with my help. After a moment of silence, he spoke.

" You saved me? Angel! "

" Yah I saved you along with my friend. I was wandering in the forest when I saw a battlefield full of dead bodies. Only you survived. So I healed you and carried you here " I rambled.

" Where am I? " he investigated.

" You are at my secret hideout. " I half replied to the question.

I know nothing of him yet so I can't trust him with the information about the coven. Although in my heart he was my best friend but still now wasn't the time to open things up.

" Who are you? Why did you save me? " he raised his questions.

" I am Amelia. You were injured so I saved you." I said firmly.

He looked at me with a doubtful gaze.

" Last question, What did you do to my wolf? Why is he not responding to me? " he asked.

" When I saved you there was way too much silver in your system. Though we managed to save you your wolf is still weak. Now that you are awake your wolf will soon appear back. Rest up I will get you something to eat." I said and exited the cave.

I turned on the ward to stop him in case he wants to wander around. I ran back home. After searching the whole house I found Lily on the roof.

" I was searching for you everywhere. I have got something exciting for you." I panted.

" Take a breath, a girl no one is rushing you," she said.

" You know what, he is awake," I said cheerfully.

"Seriously! that's good news. Let's visit him." She grabbed my arm and descended the stairs.

" Wait, Let me grab something for him to eat " I stopped her.

We went to the kitchen. I spotted my nanny there.

" Can you please make some porridge for me? I am not feeling well " I asked her.

" Wait for a while I will get it ready for you," she said politely.

After the porridge was ready we packed the porridge and set off for the cave.

" Don't tell him about our identity " I warned her.

I put off the ward and entered the cave. He was lying on the bed.

" This is Lily. She saved you along with me " I said snatching his attention.

He looked at her for a moment.

" Thanks for your effort. I will try to repay you " he mumbled plainly.

" Won't you introduce yourself? " Lily raised a question.

" No, Since you don't want to share your identity about being a witch with me then why should I bother to tell you about my identity" he announced.
