Full Moon Murder Victims

Katherine's heart started racing rapidly as if it were about to fall off with Harris so close to her and his hands touching her cheek.

She was already wet from just hearing him talk about their night together and him being so close worsened things. It was almost impossible to control herself but the murmurs from the Major and others who were watching them helped her a lot.

Though her hands were weak, she managed to push him away from her with all the power remaining in her but it was not of much help because this hunky guy was quite strong and sturdy enough to be moved by her light push.

She didn't know how to react to the embarrassment she was facing at that moment and the only thing that came to mind was running away from the room.

She hurried off to her office and sat on her chair still panting heavily with mixed emotions.

Jason, who had run after them since he watched them leave arrived at Kat's office but was surprised to not see them there.

He looked around her small 7 by 7 office but neither Kat nor The King was in sight then he heard some noise coming from the restroom inside Kat's office.

He sat on her desk waiting for them until the door unlocked and Harris stepped out, sweating profusely.

Jason had to set aside his fear for Harris' rank and sovereignty to protect the one that mattered a lot to him.

"You have no right to manipulate her mind and always get her to do what you want like this. She had a life before you and you have to respect that." Jason warned Harris sternly, standing hands akimbo while Harris just stared at him in surprise.

"You looked so scared earlier but now you're bold enough to scold me? She must really mean a lot to you." Harris chuckled slyly.

"You're right. She means the world to me and I won't sit here and just watch you make her well-planned out life into a laughing stock." Jason snarled.

"I have no right? You were there last night. You witnessed it first-hand. You know she is my mate. My property! Mine. And now you talk about right?" He asked warily.

"Your Property? Did she already accept to be your mate because I can't remember her uttering any pledge in front of you? For God's sake, our Superiors were watching the interrogation. If she meant anything to you, you wouldn't have embarrassed her the way you did." He retorted and just then Kat who had been eavesdropping on their argument finally stepped out of the bathroom.

"The Major wants you in his office." He interrupted, not ready to hear what she had to say.

He threw a withering stare at Harris who seemed to be having a rethink about his unethical behavior towards Kat before storming out of the office.

He called upon the two detectives who were now in their right minds after being manipulated by Harris and asked them to escort the suspect back to the interrogation room and wait until the questioning Detective was back before he went back to his desk which was arranged alongside other sergeants, trooper first class and troopers.

They didn't have any offices of their own, only personal desks and space.

After Harris was taken away by the detectives and all of Kat's cravings were satisfied, she finally came to her senses and regretted every bit of her attitude.

"Why did this have to happen to me? I can swear no other person is living a life as messed up as mine." She mumbled to herself.

She began to think of what to say about today's incident as she walked toward the Mayor's office which was just a few blocks away from hers.

She stood in front of his office door contemplating whether or not to enter until the door sprung open.

"I thought I should help you make a decision." Major Daniels blurted out, walking back to his seat.

"Sir, I-I'm sorry...about earlier..."

"You shouldn't be sorry to me." He retorted and brought out a case file titled 'The Full Moon Serial Murder Case.' The file was named after the full moon because the murder always took place during the full moon just like two days back if not that this month's murder came a few hours earlier.

He pushed out everything that was on his big desk to the ground, leaving the table empty for a while before he dropped the file on it. He scattered every image of the victims of the gruesome murder all over the table and then he moved to where she was standing and pulled her by the hand to the table.

"Take a good look at these images closely and carefully. Alyssa Brandon and Tyler Gabriel who were found to be mates were both murdered the same day and while Tyler's d**k was missing, Alyssa's womb was never found. Emma Jose was also murdered and her heart was harvested out of her body. Your father, Jordan Reynolds was murdered with his eyes and ears plugged out and because we couldn't find him on time, the vultures feasted on his remains. Trinity Connor, Melissa Robert, and Ella James were all murdered with a part of their body missing because they were taken by the murderer as a trophy. All these people were r***d and sexually molested, even the men were not spared. Their murders were in one way or the other tied to the palace with the current king always the one with a reason for murder. These are the people you will have to apologize to. The people who were trying to give justice to." Major Daniels explained, his face etching with misery.

"Tell them that you're sorry but you won't be able to bring them justice because the suspect is your fated mate. Tell them you're sorry because you've suddenly become weak since you found him. Tell them you..."

"PLEASE STOP!" She shrieked in excruciating pain as she couldn't take the torment any longer.
