Chapter 6
Tracy Wilson and Tristan Knight stare at each other intently. They're already set for the audition, and the camera has been set. All they need now is an instruction from the director, and they'll start acting.
Staring up at his deep blue ocean eyes, she can't help admiring them, but the coldness in them reminds her that she's in a deep mess. If only she knew things would turn out this way, she wouldn't have shown up here in the first place. The look on his face keeps screaming danger to her, and at this moment, she knows that there's no escape route for her.
She had just finished going through the script a few minutes ago, and she understood all of the lines perfectly, but right now, she has no idea if she'll be able to do this.
"Light... Camera... And action!" The director finally instructs them.
"Come on, Tracy..." Tristan tries to touch her, but she steps away from him, shaking her head momentarily as tears well up in her eyes.
"Do...don't touch me, Tristan. Don't you dare!" She screams at the top of her voice as her tears finally find their way out of her eyes.
"I didn't do it. You just have to believe me," Tristan further says with pain resounding in his voice.
"How dare you still deny this? You killed my parents! You... You took away the people that are so important to me... And to think that I have been busy all these years, loving you? That's crazy and the most painful thing. I hate you, Tristan! I hate you so much!" She breaks down in tears, hitting his chest slightly as more tears pour out of her eyes. She acts the scene with so much passion as if it's real. Maybe because of her dead parents, or she just wants to give her all to win this audition. The fear and nervousness she was battling earlier have left her, and now, all she feels is the emotions of finding the traitor that killed her parents, according to the script.
"Do you ever trust me, Tracy? No... I don't think so. You don't even love me, how the heck are you supposed to trust me? It's crazy and unbelievable that we have been together for three good years, and you still don't trust me..."
"Don't you dare talk to me about trust! Don't you dare! Stay the hell away from me. I hate you!" She says in disdain before she finally turns around. He suddenly pulls her back and hugs her tightly from behind, and her heart misses a beat.
"I didn't really do it, Tracy. You have to believe me. I love you... I don't want to lose you. I... I... I promise to find the culprit and bring him or her to you. Please don't leave me," He weeps on her shoulder as he hugs her more tightly as if she would disappear if he let go of her.
"I can't imagine my life without you..." He pauses and slowly turns her around to face him.
"I don't you to ever leave my sight, Tracy. I love you," And with that, he pulls her close and slams his lips on hers, kissing her slowly.
What the heck! It wasn't written in her script that they were going to kiss, so what the hell is he doing now?
Still lost, he suddenly pulls away from her, pulling her into his arms afterward.
"I'm sure you don't want to mess with me, Tracy. Don't try to leave after the audition, or you'll spend the rest of your life behind bars," He whispers to her, and she gulps down nothing nervously as his words sink into her head.
"Cut!" The director finally announces, and he pulls away from her.
"That was perfect. You did well, Tracy... You'll..."
"She failed the audition. Get someone else," Tristan cuts the director off, as he walks away, leaving them stunned. Tracy stares at him until he's out of sight. What the heck! Did she spend all the energy for nothing? He's going to reject her like that, even when it's obvious that she passed the audition?
Still standing in shock, she suddenly hears her name behind her, and she turns around to see one of the crew members walking up to her.
"Mr. Knight demands your presence," The young man says to her, and her heart sinks into her stomach. It feels as though the ground should open and swallow her, but too bad that it only happens in movies.
A few minutes later on the rooftop...
Tracy walks in carefully and sighs briefly when she sees Tristan standing and bending over the rail. The gentle breeze blows on his face and sways his hair slowly. He looks extremely handsome. It'll be difficult for anyone to believe that this man is dangerous, judging from his innocent face.
"Where are my clothes?" He finally turns around to face her, his eyes scrutinizing her body, and she gulps down nothing. Showing up here was a bad idea in the first place. She should have just forgotten about the audition and moved on with her life.
"I guess you have nothing to say. What's your name again?" He asks calmly.
"Tracy Wilson..." Her voice quivers nervously.
"Tracy Wilson... Nice name that you got, anyway. You have just an hour left to refund the money to me... You're staying here with me until that one hour is gone, and if you don't provide the money, then you know what's going to happen. Your time starts now," He says to her calmly, and she slowly raises her gaze to look at him in shock as she feels her heart wrenches. Where will she get the money from? Her sister is even in the hospital and she hasn't gotten the money to discharge her yet, how the hell is she supposed to raise twenty-three thousand dollars in an hour?
"I don't have money," She replies to him bluntly, turning her face away. Not that he will pity her if she tries to look pathetic anyway, so what is the point of acting all pathetic?
"Great..." He pauses and brings out his phone from his pocket, scrolling through it.
"Wh...what are you doing?" She stutters nervously, hoping that it's not what she's thinking.
"You'll find out soon," He replies to her, finally taking the phone to his ear.
"Hey, Collins. I need you to get someone arrested... Yes, I'll send you the address," He says on the phone to whoever he called, and drop the call afterward.
"Wh...what? Why...why would you do that? I mean... I mean... I didn't do anything..."
"You should explain that to the police when you get to the station," He replies to her, turning his attention from her afterward...
