Chapter Twelve They descended deep below the surface and soon encountered several sets of massive steel doors. The open doors were over a foot thick. If closed, they would stop even the most determined from continuing down the tunnel. The deeper they got, the colder it became. Lucy now understood why several sweatshirts were on the recommended packing list. The floors were concrete, and the walls and ceilings stone.
