Chapter Eight Lucy carefully stepped onto the bus and allowed her little brother to choose their seats. She told him that he could have the window seat. This made him feel good, and Lucy would have the extra room that the aisle seat provided. Looking to his sister, Sam asked, “Should I put our backpacks above?” She glanced at the baggage rack above. “Keep them down here for now. You’ll be wanting the stuff in it, and we don’t want to have to keep getting it down.” Not happy with the answer, he took his seat and stuffed the bag by his feet.
