Delilah’s POV After meeting with Roman, the pain I involuntarily caused Tobias hung in the surrounding air. I felt like a blade was waiting to slice through the tension. So I thought it would be best if I left him to finish his day without me. But truly I was hurt at the way he bore his eyes into mine in Romans' office. As if this was my fault. Does he think I want to have two mates? Because no I don’t, it has already been so surreal falling in love with the man who, as a boy, made it his mission to pick on me, but even then I trusted him and I wish he would trust me too. I did all I could to hide my own pain as I left him in his office. The short walk in felt like an eternity this time as I walked out of the building alone. Instead of calling on my driver, I decided to walk through town
