It was finally her wedding day. She sat in front of the mirror, her heart fluttering with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Dressed in her bridal attire, she looked breathtaking, but her mind raced with thoughts about what the future would hold.
As she adjusted her veil, she caught movement in the mirror and turned to see her soon-to-be mother-in-law standing at the door, a warm smile on her face.
"Aunty," she greeted, quickly getting up from her chair. A bright smile spread across her face
"Call me Mom now," her mother-in-law said affectionately as she walked closer.
Before she could react, the older woman pulled her into a gentle hug. "Look at how beautiful my daughter is looking," she said, holding her arms and admiring her lovingly.
"Thank you, Aunt," she replied with a shy smile.
Her mother-in-law pulled back slightly, raising a playful eyebrow. "What did I say? Call me Mom."
She chuckled softly. "Alright, let’s try again," her mother-in-law said, repeating the same gesture. "Look at how beautiful my daughter is looking."
This time, her smile grew wider, warmth spreading through her chest. "Thank you, Mom," she said softly.
"Now, that’s perfect. That’s my girl," her mother-in-law said, beaming with pride.
"Are you nervous?" she asked, her tone gentle as she looked into her eyes.
She nodded slightly, biting her lip.
"It’s natural to feel this way," her mother-in-law reassured her. "Come on, dear. I came to bring you. Shall we go? Jace is waiting for you," she added, holding out her hand.
Her heart skipped a beat at the mention of Jace. "I’m really nervous," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Her mother-in-law squeezed her hand reassuringly. "It’s alright. Every bride feels this way. But trust me, once you see him, all your worries will melt away."
Taking a deep breath, she nodded. "Let’s go," she said, allowing herself to be led outside.

Jace stood at the altar, his fingers fidgeting slightly as he glanced at the entrance repeatedly. His heart raced with anticipation, the moments feeling like an eternity. He couldn’t wait to see her.
And then he saw her.
His mother led her down the aisle, and for a moment, the world around him blurred. All he could see was her. She looked like an angel—ethereal and radiant—with a shy smile gracing her lips and a hint of nervousness in her eyes. His heart swelled with love and disbelief.
As they approached, he stepped forward, extending his hand to her. "I can’t believe I’m this lucky to have you as my wife," he said, his voice filled with emotion.
Her cheeks flushed as she placed her hand in his, her smile widening.
"Shall we begin?" the priest asked, his calm voice breaking the moment.
Jace’s mother glanced around, her expression shifting slightly. "Where’s Xavier?" she asked Jace.
"He said he’s on the way. He’ll be here soon," Jace assured her.
His father stepped in. "We should begin the ceremony," he said firmly but gently.
Jace nodded. "Yes, let’s start," he said, his eyes never leaving hers.
The priest began the ceremony, his voice resonating through the hall. As they exchanged vows, Jace couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by the sheer joy of the moment. Her hand trembled slightly in his, but his steady grip reassured her.
