Chapter Seven: Protective

Elora's P.O.V.

Sam drove us to the mall and I decided I wanted to surprise him with some lingerie at some point. So I picked out a few cute pieces, a few new outfits, thongs, and a few new dresses. I went up to the register and I made sure they bagged up the lingerie and thongs before I called Sam over so he could pay the cashier. I felt horrible if I'm being honest with myself. He kept telling me not to worry about it but it wasn't that easy. We were heading back to the pack house when Sam grabbed my hand. He refused to let it go until we got back to the pack house and then again as we walked up to our floor. My new home. I still was in disbelief. Once we were in our room and I through my new clothing and lingerie down the laundry chute before Sam could see anything. Now my new clothes will be ready for tomorrow. Then I put on my PJ's, which were just some short-shorts with a tank top, and went out to the bedroom area. "So...where will I be sleeping?" I asked.

He looked at me and without even blinking he said "with me in our bed of course." I felt so many emotions rush through me at once. I was flattered, happy, lustful, and most of all I was nervous. I crawled into the ridiculously large bed and stayed by the edge. As I pulled the blankets over myself I noticed Sam was staring at me. "What?" I asked even more nervous now. He looked like an animal ready to devour it's prey. He started walking toward the bed looking straight into my eyes. My heart is racing. I can't help but get lost in time when I look into his gorgeous green eyes. He gets to the edge of the bed then immediately crawls to the center of the bed and gets under the blankets. Next thing I know I feel his arm wrap around my waist as he pulls me to the middle of the bed with him. I can feel his warm body against my back as he holds me close. He moves my hair out of my face and turns my head so I'm looking at him. I feel like I'm going to explode! He starts to lean forward. "Goodnight Beautiful." He said whispering in my ear. He gave me a kiss on the cheek and went to bed. I could hear his breathing steady as he fell asleep not once loosening his grip on me. I wish we could stay like this forever, I thought to myself as I drifted into blissful sleep.

The next morning I woke up and Sam wasn't in bed. I felt a wave of sadness wash over me. I was hoping we would spend at least a little bit of time together before tonight. I decided to get up and get dressed. Next to the laundry Chute was a clear door and I could see my clothes that I had bought yesterday through it. What the hell? I open it and realized it's a dumbwaiter so the laundry can be sent back up. I thought it was nice the Omegas in the laundry room don't have to personally deliver it. I decided to wear one of my new outfits for the day. I brushed my hair then I put on my new gorgeous green blouse. I love how it makes my eyes POP! I then put on some jean shorts and my white shoes. I got done tying my shoes when I heard the door open and shut.

I walked out of the closet to find Sam. He was carrying a tray of food. "Well looks like I slacked. I wanted to get back up here before you woke up." He said in a disappointed tone slightly lifting the tray. "It was supposed to be breakfast in bed, but we can sit over here and eat together instead." He said motioning towards the sitting area. He was already so sweet to me. It gave me butterflies. "I think that sounds like a great idea. Thank you Sam." I said to him with a smile. I'm already falling for him and he doesn't even know it.

Sam's P.O.V.

After breakfast I set the tray on the table to be dealt with by the maid. I pause for a moment staring at her. She's so beautiful. She seemed so happy right now maybe I shouldn't ask. I can't keep putting it off. I need to know what happened. I take a deep breath and I look at her. "Elora... What happened to you the day I found you? You were hurt bad and I can't let that happen again. Who did that to you?" She looked down. "Please tell me." I said to her. "It's not important." She said to me. "What are you talking about? Of course it is!" I told her trying to keep my cool. "What happened, happened and I dealt with it. It's over. And I'm happy now. Can we just leave it at that for now please?" She pleaded. Her eyes begging me to agree. I couldn't help but nod my head. I wanted to get her mind off of the bad things so I decided to show Elora more of her new home. Our home. We didn't make it very far. When I showed her our own personal mini theater she got so excited we just had to watch a movie. I made us some fresh popcorn and got some snacks from snack bar and drinks from the mini fridge and we sat down and watched a couple horror movies. We were sitting together on an extra wide recliner relaxing and enjoying eachothers company. We were also making fun of the terrible decisions the movie characters were making. But there were some parts of the movie that made her jump. I took the opportunity to pull her next to me and hold her throughout the movie. It was nice spending that time with her. I looked down at my watch and realized it was almost 3:00pm! I had to go and make the last preparations for our allies that will be attending tonight's feast. "Listen beautiful, I'm running late. I apologize I have to leave so sudden. I have to go and deal with some pack duties. I may not be back for a while. BUT I will be back before the feast starts to escort you down. Then you will have my undivided attention. I promise." I told her as I kissed her forhead and then her hand before I turned to leave.

Elora's P.O.V.

After Sam left I decided to explore the rest of the 4th floor. I walked past the mini theater and found a music room that had a drum set, a guitar, a cello, and a saxophone. The next room was an art room that had paintings on the wall. It was beautiful. After that I found a workout room that had dumbbells, a treadmill, a stair climber, and a pull-up bar. Then finally on the other side of the 4th floor I found a basketball court! This place was crazy big! And thats just one floor! After a few hours of exploring I realize the sun is going down and its getting late. I should get ready. Before I can make it back to the room there is a knock at the main entrance to the 4th floor. Why would Sam knock? I go and answer the door to find 2 woman. I've never seen them before. "Hi, not trying to ambush you, but I'm Sam's sister Olivia. You can call me Livy and this is our mother." She said gesturing to the woman who was next to her. "Hi sweety, I'm Jane. Its a pleasure to meet you! Since Sam hasn't brought you to us, we thought we would come to you. We just simply couldn't wait any longer! We were hoping we could help you get ready for the evening." She said with a big smile. Sam's mother is Gorgeous and I could clearly see he got his eyes from his her. She had long curly black hair and she is easily 5'10". Long legs and a curvy frame. His sister Olivia looked like a younger version of their mother and just as beautiful in every way.

It took me a few seconds for my brain to function again. "Uuhhh....Yea.. Yea sorry you just caught me off guard. I wasn't sure when I would meet Sam's family or what to even expect. This is all so new for me. This is such an amazing home, And he has been such a gentleman. I cant even express how much I am in disbelief." I explained to them. "Sam? A gentleman? Well maybe to you." Olivia said with a smirk. Jane shook her head "They have always been mean to eachother." "WHAT?? ME? NEVER." Olivia said dramaticly and sarcastically. I couldn't help but laugh. "Honestly, yes please. I would love some help. I've never actually been to an event like this. I wouldn't want to embarrass myself or Sam if I under dress..or over dress." I said to them "You could NEVER embarrass Sam." Jane said. After showing the two of them the dresses, and shoes I had available we chose an outfit for the evening. Olivia did my makeup as Jane curled my hair. When they were done they left me so I could get dressed and so they could go get ready themselves.

Sams P.O.V.

As soon as I finished getting everything set for the feast I went to get ready myself. I rushed into the room and closed the door behind me. I turned around with my eyes down on the floor when I noticed her. I slowly lift my eyes to see her beautiful red dress that had a slit up the right side that went all the way up to her mid thigh. I could see her red heels that she was wearing because of that pefectly placed slit. The dress flowed perfectly on her complimenting her curves. As my eyes continued up I could see her dress came down to show just a little bit of cleavage. Her skin looked so smooth and soft I wanted to bite it! Her fiery red hair was curled and yet still so long it was flowing down her sides and her back. Her lips were a red that matched her dress and she had on a dark eyeshadow that made her eyes pop. "Wow...you look... you're so beautiful." Was all I could manage to say. In that moment I realized she has me wrapped around her finger and she doesn't even know it yet.

After I snapped out of being mesmerized by Elora I hurried and got dressed in a black suit. Once we were both ready I held out my arm for her to take and we went down to the Dining Hall. Once we got there I found my parents and sister. "Everyone this is Elora. My Mate " I said introducing her to them. "Well... Me and Olivia kind of already introduced ourselves. Since you weren't bringing her to us, we went to her. We went upstairs earlier to help her get ready for this evening." My Mother said with a grin. "Oh really? That's news to me." I said looking at Elora. "Well I had never really been to one of these events and they offered to help." She said with an innocent smile. I just smirked at her. "Well thank you for helping her, Mother." "Hey what about me?" Olivia asked. "What about you?" I said making sure I sounded serious. "Well then this is my Father and former Beta David. My brother Jake is around here somewhere, but you can meet him later." My father pulled her into a hug while I mentioned Jake. "Welcome to the family darling." He said smiling at her. "Well, we will get out of your hair and let you guys enjoy your night." My mother said as she nudged my Father and sister to leave with her. I decided to take Elora behind the pack house to show her the garden. We got outside and the Moon was shining so bright it lit up the garden. You could see all the flowers and their different colors. The Moonlight was glistening off of the pond. It was a perfect night.

We walked through the garden for a few minutes when we stopped by the pond. I looked down at her and she was already looking back up at me with her gorgeous blue eyes. I couldn't think about anything else but her lips. I wanted a taste. No. I needed to taste her sweet red lips. Slowly, I leaned down. Closer and closer until I could feel her breath on my lips. This is it.

"Let go of him! NO! STOP IT!" A female was screaming inside the Dining Hall. f**k! People have the worst timing! Just before we head back inside I grab Elora's hand. "Stay with me no matter what. Don't let go." She nods and I lead the way inside. I can hear the commotion coming from the center of the Dinning Hall. "MOVE! OUT OF MY WAY! MOVE!" I keep yelling as I'm pushing through the crowd. Keeping a tight grip on Elora's hand. Once I'm close enough I can see it's Kai fighting another Man. I look over to see William our Alpha and my best friend walking up to them. "STOP FIGHTING! NOW!" He yelled in his Alpha tone causing them to submit. "Go to the Pack house Office NOW. And YOU go with them." He added. I looked up to see a scared Ava slowly following the two men. After They were nearly out of the room Will came to me. "Get to the bottom of this. I'll watch on the camera monitors. I'm to pissed off at Kai to deal with him right now." He said clearly annoyed. I nodded my head and went to the pack house office keeping Elora close to me.

Elora's P.O.V.

I was staying close to Sam like he had asked me to. What the hell was going on? We got into the office and I went and stood in the corner behind Sam. Kai and the other man were just a few feet away from each other and neither one looked happy. "Ok whats going on. Who are you? I've never seen you before." Sam said to the Man. "I'm Marco Hernandez. I'm the Beta of the Blue Mountain Pack. This is my first time here with My Alpha. Ask him yourself if you feel the need." He said angrily. "I'll get to that soon enough. Why were you guys fighting?" Sam asked the man. "This dumbass got mad when I tried to introduce myself to my Mate!" Ava is his Mate? "Her?" Sam said pointing at Ava. "Yes her." He said trying to walk to Ava. But Kai stepped in his way growling at him. "If you dont move we're going to have a problem." Marco exclaimed to Kai. "Stop it right now!" Ava said pushing Kai to the side. "Kai, he's my Mate. I'm choosing him. I'm sorry." She said almost sounding genuine. "You can't be serious right now Ava? After all I've done for you? You're going to do this to me? I rejected my mate for you! And now you won't even do the same?" Kai said angrily at her. "Well maybe you shouldn't have. Our Mates are a gift from the Moon Goddess." Ava said to him without even blinking. She grabbed her Mate's hand and looked at Kai "And we ALL have to respect that." I couldn't believe what I was hearing! She doesnt respect the mate bond! She attacked me because of it! I couldn't sit back and listen to her bullshit any longer. "Are you f*****g joking right now?" I said. "Elora what are you-" Sam tried to speak but I cut him off. "You respect the mate bond?" I said to Ava. "If thats true then why did you attack me in the bathroom when you found out Kai was my FIRST mate! You and your dumb friends beat me till I was coughing up blood! All because I didn't accept his rejection quick enough for you? And for what? You're going to leave him anyways! You're a dumb heartless b***h Ava Boone! And Im glad you will be going to a different pack! You disgust me!" I said to her meaning every word. "Well it all worked out for you anyways, so why do you care?" She said without hesitation. She let her true colors show. Just then her mate let go of her hand. "WHAT?!" Sam yelled "Did you know about this Kai! Was this the 'PROBLEM' you were dealing with?" He got in Kais face. "I swear Kai..." "No what the hell! Of course not Sam! I mean... I went to the hospital to see her after I found the blood but then she accepted my rejection and sent us away." Kai said to Sam "US? You took this dumb b***h with you after she put her in the hospital?" Sam was about to explode. I had to do something. I grabbed his arm and he immediately started to calm down. He turned to look at me. "I'm right here. I'm ok..." I told him. Without another word he pulled me in for a hug. "Excuse me miss. I want to apologize for what you had to go through. That is one of the lowest things I've ever heard someone do. And I'm ashamed to have to say that the person that did that was my Mate." Marco said to me I could hear the pitty in his voice. "What do you mean 'was' your mate. I am your Mate." Ava said to him trying to sound cute and hug his arm. He looked at her and forcefully pulled away. "I would never want someone like you. Someone who could do something so terrible. Someone who attacks someone else for absolutely no reason. Then you had the audacity to show up at the hospital knowing what you did. You ARE a disgusting woman. And I Marco Hernandez, Beta of the Blue Mountain Pack," Ava tried to stop him. "No please! Please! Give me another chance! Please dont do this!" She pleaded to no avail. "Hereby reject you Ava Boone as my Mate." Marco finished. "Aargghhh!" She fell to her knees clutching her chest. No one cared enough to help her. "I'm done with her. I'd like to turn in for the evening if that's alright with you Beta Sam." Sam nodded. Without another word Marco left the room and shut the door behind him. "Now what do we do with you." Sam said angrily looking down at Ava.
