Lea? Lea? Earth to Lea!

“Hello?” Lea woke startled, calling out to her empty room. A small sweet laugh filled her head.

“Hello Lea, finally you are awake.”

Lea Instantly knew her wolf had arrived. It was her 18th birthday and today was the start of the rest of her life.

Lea smiled to herself.

“Hello there you. What is your name?”

Her wolf spoke softly and calmly. She sounded beautiful.

“My name is Elsie and I promise you will be never be alone again Lea. You are me and I am you”

A single tear fell from Leas large hazel eyes.

“Lea, don’t cry. You should be happy, not sad”

Lea could sense Elsie in her mind and the thought of her there made her feel safe. Feeling safe didn’t come naturally to Lea and it somewhat this time felt right.

A knock on the door interrupted Leas thoughts. She slid of her bed, put on her slippers and walked to the door.

As Lea opened the door she immediately knew who it was.

“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Lea, happy birthday to you!” Ken was stood there with a single chocolate cupcake with a single candle.

“Goodness what an awful singing voice” Elsie exclaimed in her head.

“Ken thank you. You didn’t have to.”

She blew out the candle and opened the door wider. Ken walked over and sat on the end of her bed. He patted the space next to her signalling for her to sit down. Lea rolled her eyes.

“Ken, I swear if this is a birthday lecture you can leave right now!”

Ken scoffed.

“How bloody dare you. Lea Joan how rude” he was joking and the sarcasm in his voice made Lea giggle.

“Right seriously Ken before you start I just want to say thank you for saving my life. You truly are the best friend anyone could ask for. I couldn’t be without you”

“Oh stop will you. Stop being so dramatic. I know it’s your birthday but please spare me the waffle. Your my best friend. My sister and I know you would do the same for me. I love you and always will.”

Lea let a sob escape her lips and Ken rolled his eyes. He hated this kind of talk. It really was not for him.

“I love you too Ken. Thanks for being my brother from another mother.”

Ken laughed.

“anyway come on tell me all about your wolf. What’s her name?”

Lea smiled. He always knew how to lighten the mood.

“Her name is Elsie and she sounds beautiful. I can’t wait to see her”

Ken looked directly into her eyes

“Well Elsie it is lovely to meet you. I will forever be by your side”

I like him Elsie purred.

“Right, moving on from all this nonsense. Alpha Ken has asked me to let you know the meeting starts in an hour. I will come and get you in around..50 minutes? That gives us 10 minutes to walk to the meeting room without rushing.

Lea nodded her agreement in return.

“Sounds great”

With that Ken marched to the door and turned back to face her. He winked, blew a kiss and then was gone.

Right Lea thought. Let’s do this. She started by getting a hot shower and washing her long locks. She dried, straightened and put a few loose curls in her hair and put on some light make up. Her closet wasn’t the best but she decided on a fitting knee length black dress with a belt to go around her waist. Instead of the typical black pumps, she decided to go for some small red high heels.

“Woahhhhhh Lea you look amazing”

“Thanks Elsie, you did help me chose the outfit so I should be thanking you”

Lea looked at her reflection. She did look amazing. Confidence oozed out of her. A knock of the door startled her.

“S**t”

She marched to the door and opened it.

“Ken is that you?”

Ken laughed.

“It is sweet cheeks. You don’t look that bad your self”

Lea took Ken in. He had opted for a grey suit with a white shirt. His muscles were fighting to show. His mousy blonde hair was slicked back. He didn’t look like Ken.

A chilling voice startled them.

“Well hello there Lea. Happy birthday to you.”

Ethan.

“Hello there Ethan. Thank you that’s very kind”

A voice popped up “I want to kick him in his head”

“Yes thank you Elsie but unfortunately not on this one. He’s a d**k but I don’t want to add any fuel to his games” Lea wasn’t used to Elsie popping in and out just yet. It still took her by surprise.

Ken could sense the awkwardness and jumped in.

“Sorry Ethan we are on a schedule. We must not be late so we will see you around”

Lea could see his dirty eyes taking in her body.

Goodness I knew this dress was a bad idea. It drew unwanted attention to her.

Ethan nodded his head.

“Yes I do look forward to it. Bye”

Ken linked Leas arm and they started to walk down the corridor. She could still feel his eyes blaring into her.

Ken broke the silence. “Goodness he’s such a weirdo. Please say your mate isn’t going to be like him”

Oh s**t yes Lea thought. Today could be I meet my mate!

After a 5 minute walk they made it to the meeting hall. It was lavish and only used on special occasions. They turned to face each other. Lea wiped down Ken’s suit and he did the same to her hair.

They both could hear chatter behind the doors. It sounded heated but that’s ok. We all know how Alphas get at these meetings.

The double doors opened and a smell hit Lea. It smelt like pomegranates and cherry. It was good? Ken lead the way into the room. Lea took in the surroundings. A huge wooden table was set in the middle of the room with 12 large Alphas sat around it. 12 betas filled the space behind them.

“Mate, Mate Mate” Elsie was going nuts. She was repeating the words in Leas head constantly. She was whining for whoever it was. In an instance, chair legs were being scraped along the floor. A huge figure had stood and was staring straight at her. He was gorgeous. Tall, dark and handsome. He turned and started to make his way to her. His muscles were flexing under his shirt. His blue eyes boared into hers. Normally if a large Alpha was coming at her like this, she would be scared. Not this time. An excited ripple spread down her spine. She could feel every eye on her in the room.

He stopped right in front of her.

“Mine”

Lea was pretty sure a god had just stopped in front of her. In a few more seconds he would have been scraping her off the floor.

“Mine” he repeated as he reached out his hand and took hers in his. Tingles erupted. She knew he had felt it too from the way he eyes changed.

“Alpha Ken, if you would be so kind to introduce me” yes, yes definitely a god Lea thought.

Alpha Ken stood and walked over to them.

“Alpha Liam, please meet Lea your future Luna.”

Alpha Liam smiled the most perfect smile. For the second time today Lea has felt safe.

“Lovely to meet you Lea. Please call me Liam.”
