Lea groaned as she slowly opened her eyes. The room was filled with the morning sun and her eyes slowly adjusted to her surroundings. Her room was small but she had made it into her home over the years. She didn’t have many belongings and what she did have was mainly cast offs from the pack. She didn’t mind though. It was more than what she had 4 years ago. Lea thought herself lucky that the Moon shine Alfa had taken her in when she had stumbled onto his land. She had been in an accident and couldn’t remember her life prior to the Moon shine pack. Even though a slave, they treated her fairly and gave her a roof over her head. She let out another groan. Why? A huge why? Leas head pounded. today was going to fun she thought sarcastically to herself. Lea rolled her self up and sat on the edge of the bed staring into the long mirror in front of her. She looked at her reflection that was staring back at her. Wow, what a mess. Her long brown hair that she had curled the night before looked like a birds nest on the back of her head. Her make up had smudged on her face and her bags under her eyes were a lot bigger than normal. She had always gained a lot of attention from the other pack members because of her good looks. Male pack members had sneered at her, groped her and on some occasions tried to do more. Her best friend Ken had always been by her side and managed to stop them but Lea knew that her luck was wearing thin. Every day was getting harder to keep herself under wraps. She would serve the Alpha and his family, do her chores and stay in her room. Last night Ken had begged her to go to a small party that was being held by another slave. Lea had at first politely denied but Ken would not give up. “Lea please, my mate might be there. She could be waiting for me, like I am her” he would keep saying. She told him to go by himself but he wouldn’t give up. Ken had turned 18 last week and had hoped his mate would pop up and sweep him away from this place. “Ken it’s been a week, give it some time will you. The more you try and force it, the more disappointed you will be” Lea secretly didn’t want Ken to find his mate. Once he did, his mate would become his life. They would become one and nothing or no one could get in the way. Lea wasn’t 18 until another month. Ken had been Leas protector and by her side but once his mate came into the picture, everything would change. How selfish of her she would think, Ken deserved to be happy. Anyway, she finally caved and went and after two many shots of vodkas, stumbled back to her room with Ken helping her. He had tucked her in, turned the lights off and left quickly. Lea took a deep breathe and stood up. She let her spinning head adjust to the room and made her way to the sink in the corner. Her room was a box room with everything shoved into it. It’s lovely and cosy she had always told herself. She splashed her face with the freezing cold water and wiped away yesterday’s make up, she didn’t have warm water, her privileges were small but she didn’t mind. She opened her closet and took out a long wrap dress, tights and her boots. The wrap dress was a little big as she was tiny anyway but the lack of food had contributed. She brushed her hair and placed it in a bun on top of her head. She stepped back and looked in the mirror again. Not going to get any better than this I suppose, she said to herself. She opened the door and stepped out and locked it behind her. There had been a thief recently going into the rooms. Nothing was ever taken but they had been looking for something. Others would go back to their rooms being turned upside down and Lea would try anything to prevent this. She couldn’t afford to lose anything, she didn’t have much. “Well hello beautiful” a creepy voice had appeared behind her. Lea signed. “Hello Ethan” she turned to face him. He instantly stepped towards her. She could feel his breath on her face and she pushed herself up against her door. “Ethan please I am late as it is, I haven’t got time for your games this morning” “Oh Lea, always playing hard to get. Why don’t you just give in to me?” He glanced down and did a once over on her petite body. “You do things to me that no other can do Lea. You are exquisite my love” “Ethan for one I am not your love and two I have asked you to stop this. I will never be yours” Lea tried to slide out to the left but he stepped the same way to stop her. “Ethan please let me go. I am serving breakfast this morning and I don’t want to be late” “You say you will never be mine but what happens when you turn 18? I could be your mate. You would be mine whenever I wanted. I would be yours and you would be mine” The thought sent a shiver down Leas spine. She instantly felt sick. She hated Ethan. At the beginning he would treat her badly. He once dropped the Alphas bowl of food and blamed it on her. She went 2 days without eating because of it. Luckily Ken would sneak her food but it wasn’t the same as eating full meals. “Is there a problem here?” Ethan spun round and Lea let go of her breathe that she didn’t know she was holding. “Hello Ken” Ethan sneered. “No, no problem here, I was just telling Lea how lovely she looked this morning. Even after her drunken night she still looks lovely” Ken c****d his head to the side. “Following us were you Ethan?” “I have eyes everywhere Ken, I even know when you take a s**t”. Ken coiled his nose. “You are one of a kind you Ethan. Anyway Lea let’s go. We don’t want to be late” “Yes absolutely Ken. Ethan il be seeing you. Bye” Lea slipped to Ken and took his arm. Ethan glared at the gesture, turned and he was gone down the corridor. “What a freak” Ken exclaimed. “He is one strange wolf” “Yes your right, but you shouldn’t wind him up Ken. He’s not one to get on the wrong side of. He’s such a weirdo waiting outside my door like that” “Good job I was your knight in shining armour” Ken laughed. Lea smacked his arm playfully. “Quick let’s go. We are going to be so late”
