Never To Be His

Episode Two

Daciana's POv

Ray of sunshine flickered through the curtains and I quickly covered my eyes with my hands. The continuous beeping of the machines attached to my hands and the unshakeable smell of iodine filled my nostrils. It could only mean one thing, I was in the hospital.

I jerked up, but the rich baritone voice I heard made me turn swiftly.

“Easy dear, you shouldn't be sitting up yet” it was a muscular man. He had brown eyes, a perfectly chiseled jawline and a dimple that was displayed on his face as he smiled at me.

“Who are you?” I asked the obvious question and he said his name was Zane. It did not ring a bell but I wondered how I got there.

“You walked into the road and I almost knocked you down but luckily for you, I hit the pole in front of me but you fell down and I rushed you here to make sure you are fine”

It was then it occured to me that I was running away from my life and I just barged into the high way. It was actually my fault and he was still kind enough to take me to the hospital.

“Sorry about that, and thank you for helping me” I said with my head bowed down. Then it hit me, thoughts of the previous night with Alexander

“My baby” I suddenly yelled out.

“My baby, is my baby fine?”

Just then the doctor walked in and she assured me that everything was fine.

“You fell down and passed out due to the shock and fear you felt. But everything is alright with you and your baby” she said, checking my eyes with the flash light in her hands.

“Thank you doctor, I was so scared when I saw her lying on the floor” Zane told the doctor and she smiled.

“You did great rushing her here, there is no telling what would have happened”.

“You are free to go home miss, your results is out and we have no reason to hold you back”

“Thank you once again doctor” She left and Zane asked me if I would love to call a family member to come take me home or if he should drop me off? He continued to stir at me and immediately I knew it had something to do with my body weight.

Suddenly it felt like a serpent crawled into my stomach and I couldn't hold back the tears streaming down my cheeks.

Five Years Later…..

“Hurry up Star, you will be late for your show” Martha my PA said barging into my room as she placed my dress on the bed. I stood in front of the mirror, my figure like an hourglass. Sexy to a fault, my whole body had been transformed to look like that of a model, with a slender build. I couldn't imagine the Daciana of before that was called a pig was now the goddess standing before me. The journey from that horrid time to this moment was not pleasant but it was worth it.

“Mummy, mummy” Pete called as he ran into the room.

“Hey honey” I opened my arms and embraced him. Since I gave birth to Pete, I have gotten genuine reasons to always smile and forget about my terrible past.

“Can I come to the stage with you mummy?” He asked innocently but I just smiled and told him not this time. His love for music grew as he watched me play each day.

I had an unscheduled event tonight for the alpha of the Red Moon pack. His son Henry was taking over from him and also getting married. He wanted me to play for the event. It was a one off performance because he was like a father to alpha Zane plus Zane and Henry were best of friends . Even though it was not on my schedule, I had to do it gladly.

I wore the red gown Martha picked out for me. It was slated to the thigh, it had emerald stones for decorations and a lacy hem. It hugged me perfectly, accentuating my body and exposing my curves in the right places.

Martha chose a black heel for me, diamond accessories and a coral purse to complete my outfit. I stepped out of the house and headed towards the car. The driver was on standby including Pedro, my bodyguard who always followed me around.

“Martha take care of Pete for me, make sure he sleeps before nine PM”

“Yes ma'am” she said as I got into the car and Pedro shut the door behind me.

“Oh and Martha, please don't hesitate to call me if you need anything “

“Go Star, you will be late and you know alpha Zane will be restless till he sees you”

With her last comment, I told the driver to zoom off to the Grand hotel for the wedding.

It's been five years since Alpha Zane accepted me into his pack and made sure I was well taken care of until I had my baby. After I gave birth, alpha Zane got me signed to a life coach who helped me get myself back. My coach asked me to pick a hobby and allow my pain to flow through it. Amidst the options she gave me, Piano caught my attention and that was how I got into music.

In no time, I had recorded my first solo and it was a hit. Alpha Zane put all his effort into it to see that I turned out successful since I told him I was an orphan and I was being chased by rogues the day he saw me on the road. I lied, but at that moment, I couldn't jeopardize the only hope I had of having my baby in a safe environment.

Zane often followed me to the gym, eating the same diet as me just to encourage me and make sure I did not get frustrated along the line. I owed everything to him, how I became a superstar and how my life had turned around from Daciana the pig to Daciana the star singer.

The drive to the Grand motel was faster than I imagined. I was lost in thoughts, imagining what my life would have been if I had not met Zane.

“Miss, we are here” Pedro opened the door for me and helped me to get down from the car.

“This way” he gestured leading the way to the right side of the hotel. Everything looked so exquisite, the flower arrangement, the guards, the exotic cars parked outside and the scent that filled the air suited the occasion.

When I got back stage, I met Zane waiting for me.

“There you are,” he said with a bright smile, exposing his dimple.

“Sorry I kept you waiting. I had to make sure I was set” I tried to distract myself from his piercing gaze.

“It's ok Star, I know you would do wonderfully well” he smirked.

The piano had been set, microphones in place and I walked to the centre stage. It was not my first time being in front of a large crowd but it was my first time being in front of so many royalties. The couple looked radiant and happily in love, the guests whispering to each other.

I sat down too and began to play when I caught a scent, it was so strong I had to look up. Just as I dreaded, it was Alexander walking into the reception with his beta by his side.
