Episode Three

Daciana’s Point Of View

I took deep breaths in, my heart pounding rapidly in my chest. Alexander was the last person I was expecting to see tonight.

I lifted my head up and smiled at the couple. I had to keep myself together.

“Happy married life. I hope you find everything you desire and more” they kissed and I began to play the piano.

“This is my favorite song, I wrote it when I thought all hope was lost until I found love in the strangest of places”

They all clapped as I began to run my fingers on the key.

A few minutes later, the couple were on their feet dancing and everyone cheered alongside. It was a beautiful performance even though the entire time, my eyes kept darting towards Alexander who looked uninterested in the event.

After the song, Alpha Ken came to appreciate me for making out time to grace his son's wedding on short notice. I bowed after hugging him and went backstage to get my things and leave the hotel quickly before Alexander would find me. If I could catch his scent, it won't be a surprise if he does the same since the mate pull was still evident in both of us, since we did not reject it.

The presence of Pedro was a relief to me so I got into the car and asked the driver to go when I heard a knock on the glass.

“Excuse me miss, someone is here to see you”

I froze immediately, I knew it was none other than Alexander. He had found me and that was the last thing I wanted. But I couldn't allow anyone to find out I was running away from him or I even knew who he was.

“Ok” I simply said and got out of the car only to see the groom standing before me. I was shocked but relieved it was not Alexander .

“Thank you so much for coming once again”

“It's nothing dear, I wish you all the best” I said hoping to get back into my car and go home but his next words startled me

“Alpha Alexander was impressed by your performance and requested you grace the Grand celebration of Alphas that happens once in Ten years. It's to be held in honor of the past alpha and I am the one hosting it “

I felt terribly uncomfortable, his words rattled me and I did not know how to react. Why would Alexander seek my presence? Does he recognize me or was he truly thrilled by my performance?

“Hmmm” the groom cleared his throat and I was brought back to reality.

“So? Can I tell him you would be around? Please Star, it's my first duty as alpha to impress the other Alphas and show them that I was capable of handling my affairs”

“I, I am sorry” I stuttered

“I have been booked for the rest of the year” I knew my excuse was lame but it was the best I could come up with at that time.

“I am sure you can create little time for us Star, it would mean a lot to me” he pleaded

“I would see what I can do about it” I smiled wearily and got into the car. I felt uneasy and just wanted to leave that place.

The sight of Alexander brought back painful memories of my life that I had buried far behind me. I wanted nothing to do with him or my parents or even the Water side pack. They made my life miserable and I don't know if I can ever forgive them.

Immediately we got home, I went to the room and found Pete sleeping peacefully on Martha's back and I sighed in relief. I don't know why I felt insecure about Pete when I saw Alexander, maybe it was the fear that Alexander could take him away from me or I would have to face my past. I lifted him up and placed him properly on the bed

“Mummy? How was your show?” He asked and I told him it was fine. The moment he opened his eyes, all I saw was his father. The same eyes, the dimple and the way his lips would part when he wanted to speak. Pete was a splitting image of Alexander.

“Mummy, is something wrong?” Pete asked as I stirred at him lost.

“No honey, mummy is just tired” I never paid much attention to his looks because it always reminded me of Alexander but tonight it was different.

“I love you mummy” he hugged me and continued to sleep.

Martha asked why I came back looking shallow? Most times I came back from my shows feeling ecstatic but this time it was as if I was drained of life. Not just about seeing Alexander but about seeing him again in the grand Alpha's celebration.

“I am just tired Martha, bring me a cup of coffee” I went to my room to have my bath when my phone began to ring.

“Are you home Star?” Alpha Zane asked

“Yes, I am already on my bed” I chuckled nervously

“Star, don't forget the alpha's ceremony. Henry said he already settled it with you. Thank you Star” he hung up.

How could the groom tell Zane he had settled it with me? I merely said I would look into it! I had my bath and went straight to bed, it had been a long day and I had no intentions of making it a long night.

Early the next day, Martha's voice woke me up that a strange man was in the sitting room waiting for me. My eyes heavy, my hair scattered all over my face, I wore a black robe and went to find out who it was.

“ Uncle, what other trick can you do?” I heard Pete’s voice as I opened the curtains and found him sitting on Richmond's thighs.

“Yes little man, I can make your ears disappear and appear back” Alexander said laughing and Pete was having the time of his life.

“Hmmm, I cleared my throat and Pete ran to me.

“Mummy, Uncle Alexander is a magician”

“You don't say. What did I tell you about talking to strangers? Now go and brush your teeth honey. Mummy needs to talk to Uncle Alexander ”

“I am sorry mummy, Uncle Alexander is funny”

“Its ok honey, now run along”

“Hello Miss Star” Alexander voice sounded annoying and frustrating at the same time. I pretended not to know him so I asked who he was and what he was doing here? Yelling Martha's name so she would tell me why she allowed a stranger into the house.

“You know running away from your mate with his pup is not a good idea” he had a mischievous grin plastered on his face

“Excuse me, I don't know what you are talking about and you are definitely in the wrong place”

How did he even find me? Who let him in? I wondered as I asked him to leave or I would call security on him.

“I would leave, but I would definitely be back for you Hailey. You owe me Five years of love, happiness and least I forget Five years of pleasure.
