I stared at Ace dumbfounded, “What are you talking about?”

“Why do you think you were sent here?” he asked putting down the bottle of whiskey and glass on the side table next to us,

“I was sent by my boss to give you this documents to sign” I replied fiddling with my purse on my lap,

“Exactly, so you have to convince me to sign them” he said smiling broadly, “You're Alpha Baines Daughter yeah? You're such a beautiful girl and I've had my eyes on you for a very very long time, longer than you would ever imagine” he paused to stroke my hair gently,

“Why are you so tense? Relax”

“I'm just very confused, I don't understand what's going on?” I asked, pits of dread forming in my stomach,

“Don't worry, I'll make the explanation easy for you to understand okay?” He said like he was talking to a child,

“Okay” I responded softly, feeling very distrustful and unsure of his line of action.

“So Lena was looking for someone to invest in her company and I happened to be in the state on a business trip when she approached me. I told her I wasn't interested but she pressed on saying that she can get me what I've always wanted, apparently you were back in town so we made a deal. She gets you to me and I invest in Veyra”.

She used me? I can't believe this, I'm managing to get myself out of the mess my Dad put me in and now, here I am in a bigger one,

“But don't worry, I'll take very good care of you” he purred still stroking my hair, “I just need you to relax and be the very good girl that you are” he continued speaking as he leaned in for a kiss,

I took a quick discreet glance at the door and noticed it was unlocked, without thinking I grabbed the bottle of whiskey from the table and hit him hard on his head. The bottle broke, spilling out all its contents and I bolted out of the pent house straight into the elevator, thankfully it was opened because someone was stepping out.

“Hera! Hera!” I heard him bellowing behind me, I rushed out of the hotel and into the car,

“go, go, go” I said to the Driver as I got in, Damn! I choose the right day to wear flats.

My heart was thumping seriously in my chest as we drove away, I was so scared I didn't even bother to look back and check if we were being followed.

I didn't even realize we had stopped in front of the company building because I was still in shock, somehow I managed to grab my purse during my escape and my phone was in it. I didn't even remember the file, f**k the file, I can't believe she sold me out.

I got out of the car angrily, looking very disheveled,

“Hi Hera” I ignored the greeting of the receptionist and marched straight to Lena's office,

“You sold me out” I barked at her as I opened the door,

“What's the meaning of all this, Hera” she said as she stood up from her chair, her immaculate blonde hair flaring,

“You tell me? I was almost raped by that pig you sent me to see” I shouted blinded my rage,

“Why are you acting like a prude? Your insolence just cost this company millions of Dollars, you lost a high profile client. How could you decide to disrespect a high profile cli…”

“Disrespect?” I interjected, not even allowing her to complete her sentence “I was almost sexually assaulted and all you care about is your precious high profile client”

“You used me, I thought you were better but there's absolutely no difference between you and all these old manipulative pigs” I ended my mini rant,

“You don't realize what you have done? You foolish little girl, that man Ace is a high profile member of the Russian Bratva and they are going to come for us. You think your little pack can save you, you're f*****g joking. You don't know anything, you're just a sheltered little girl leaving in the shadow of her Alpha father” she spat bitterly,

“You don't know anything about me, I'm nothing like my father” I said and slammed the door on my way out.

My chest hurts badly and I could hear my heart beating very loudly in my chest. I could see the curious stares of the other staff from my peripheral but I paid them no mind. I was too angry to think and to make matters worse, my wolf was pacing loudly in the back of my mind and it was making me very unstable, maybe it's because we've been almost claimed twice by men we weren't mated to I don't know.

It was becoming very serious and I couldn't head out of the building so I made a turn and headed into the board room expecting it to be empty. I dropped to my knees immediately, my head spinning.

“Hera” I heard my name as the sweetest smell filled my nostrils,

“Enzo” I said, Dazed,

“Are you okay?” I heard simultaneously from two other voices I don't recognize,

My wolf was howling loudly in my head and it was almost clouding my vision,

“Mate” I heard them say in unison,

“Mate??” I asked my wolf confused, who are they referring to?

“They are our mates,” she replied as my world turned dark.
