Chapter 36George's next letter was written from Rawlins, Wyoming, on The Ferris Hotel stationery, which proudly proclaimed, “Running Water in Every Room” and “Steam Heat.” Carol had done a search, but the hotel appeared to be long gone; she was able to narrow down its probable location, though. George had mentioned running into two fellas from Wisconsin and travelling with them for a while. He'd wrote that they were very nice to him, “on account of me having saved them in Carbon.” He then went on to say he made the historic town of Medicine Bow, and mentioned it had a “swell” hotel, The Virginian.
