Chapter 35Billy tapped on my door a few minutes later. Most people say hello when someone greets them at the door, but not my charmingly obnoxious Billy. She barged past me, tossed a ten inch by twelve inch box-shaped item, wrapped in a piece of well-used painter's tarp, onto the bed, and did a beeline for the mini-bar. At the rate we were going, the darn thing was going to be empty and my hotel bill was going to be huge. “Where have you been?” I demanded. “I've been calling and texting you for over an hour!” I was relieved she was okay, but mad at myself for being concerned in the first place.
