“I missed you so much” I whispered, tears forming in my eyes. She was still a baby when the Waldroms burned our castle, so I didn’t recognize her quickly.
“I should’ve looked for you sooner. I should’ve saved you from the fire.”
“It’s alright, sis. What matters now is we’re both safe.”
“You should stay here,” she suggested.
“I can’t. I have to save everyone.”
“Fine. But I’m coming with you”
“You can’t. You’ll be in danger.”
“I can’t let you fight alone.”
“I won’t. I have my friends.”
“I want to be there for you too.”
“Fine, but please be cautious, don’t reveal your identity, don’t tell them your my sister, don’t tell them you’re an Alyus and don’t wear that necklace. Even though it’s not in its real form when not in use, it could cause suspicion.”
“Got it.”
We returned to our dorm rooms and I introduced Morgana to the others. “She’s Morgana, she’s new. I lied. “Welcome to Emrys Academy” said Audrey.
“Orphic, save them…” Morgana said weakly, while she was covered with blood and bruises.
“No! Morgana! I can’t lose you! Not again.” I looked around to see all my friends beaten up and covered with blood. Then there he was.
Apollyon Waldrom.
“Let go of them!” I commanded.
“Not until you give me the necklace.”
I almost gave up. Almost… But then.
“Hey, hey, are you okay? Zara asked. “You were having a nightmare.”
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
I remember what the book said: ‘The Enchantress lets you see the future.’ Oh no. I— this can’t— I can’t believe—. No, no, no, no, no. I can avoid it, right?
I couldn’t focus all day, I kept thinking about the dream I had.
“Orphic?”
I blinked and realized Cyfrin was standing in front of me. Apparently, Whimsical class had already ended. Everyone else had already left except him.
“You’ve been staring at the same page for ten minutes,” he said while sitting beside me. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
He gave me a look.
“That’s your worst lie yet.”
I sighed and closed the book in front of me. “I just didn’t sleep well.”
Another lie.
Cyfrin leaned back in his chair, still watching me carefully. “You’ve been acting strange since Morgana arrived.”
My heart almost stopped.
“What do you mean?” I asked quickly.
“You’re nervous all the time now. And whenever someone mentions the Waldroms, you look terrified.”
Because I am terrified.
Before he could ask anything else, the academy alarms suddenly rang through the halls.
Every student immediately froze.
The Head Mistress’ voice echoed through the speakers.
“All students go back to your dorm rooms immediately! This is not a drill!
Cyfrin and I looked at each other and knew we were thinking the same thing. Danger.
Zara, Blake and Audrey came rushing towards us.
“Hey lovebirds, the Blackwoods are here.” Blake said.
Oh no.
“What– I— How could this be?” Cyfrin stuttering.
“I don’t know, I think they know the enchantress is here. Anyway, we don’t have time to talk about this. Let’s go to our rooms now!” Zara exclaimed.
“Too late.” Osiris Blackwood, with Luke captured???
“Tell me where the heir is and I’ll let go of your friend.”
“We don’t know who the heir is,” said Cyfrin.
“Liar! You know where the heir is”
“Mr. Blackwood, we’re telling the truth, we don’t know who and where the heir is.” Zara said. It’s true, they don’t know it’s me.
Before Osiris could even respond. I used my Pyrokinesis and shot fire towards him. My friends joined me and used their powers to defeat Osiris.
While Cyfrin was using his Telekinesis on him to make him float to the air, Zara used her Umbrakinesis to cast shadows and fight the Blackwoods.
I can barely feel my leg when one of the Blackwoods use the Leg Kick against me. As I stood up, I saw most of my friends beaten up and on the ground. There’s only one thing that I can do to save them.
The Enchantress.
I used the Omnipresence and Time Acceleration at the same time to beat the Blackwoods all at once.
After a few minutes of beating them, they finally accepted defeat.
The Blackwoods ran and hid after they accepted their fate.
“We will come back for the necklace.” he enunciated. “You hear me? I will come back! And this time, you’re going down!” he vociferously.
My head ached as my necklace glowed. Silver light blasting around me.
I used too much power.
“What was that?” Audrey queried.
Lie.
Think of Something.
Before I could answer, Luke jumped in.
“She saved us. That’s what matters.”
The students and the head mistress gathered around the classroom thanking us for beating the Blackwoods and saving the school.
We all went back to our dorm room and discussed what had happened.
“That was awesome!” Blake crowed.
“All our hard work paid off.” Zara said feeling proud.
“Yes, now we should rest. We don’t know what’s coming for tomorrow.”
I almost slept and remembered.
Where is Morgana?
I jolted awake and looked at her bed. She left a note.
‘Went back to the cave to look for something, BRB.’
I used the invisibility power from my necklace and snuck out to meet Morgana.
“Where are you going?”
Zara.
How did she see me? Don’t make a sound. She’ll probably think she’s just dreaming.
“I know it’s you, Orphic.” I sighed
“I’m going out for air.”
“Using an invisibility spell? Oh no, you don’t. I’m coming with you.”
“NO!”
“I mean, I want some alone time.”
“Alright, I’m sorry.”
As Zara went back inside our room, I teleported to the cave to meet my sister.
I walked inside the almost collapsed cave and looked for my sister.
“Morgana?” I whispered as I heard footsteps.
Everything suddenly fell silent.
“You’re not supposed to be in here”, a deep voice growled.
“Who’s there?” I demanded.
A shadow.
A shadow coming straight for me.
Luke.
“What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to protect you.”
“I don’t need your protection—”
“Your life is in danger!”
My stomach twisted. My world froze.
“What do you mean?”
He then led me outside the cave and suddenly a surge of blue light appeared from the sky.
Seeing the future. That’s his power.
The blue light revealed me.
“Someone from your friends will betray you.” he started to explain.
“They are one of the Waldroms and has been spying on you for a long time now. But it doesn’t show me who.”
