“How do you know that’s accurate?”
“Our meeting at the playground wasn’t a coincidence. I knew your parents were going to suffer from a fire and you will be all alone,” he confessed. “I waited for you.”
I paused for a while trying to comprehend what he said.
“Have you tried avoiding it from happening?” I suggested.
“Not yet, but I do know that it has a huge consequence.” I nodded.
As we start to walk away from the cave, it starts shaking, cracks all over the cave, smoke consuming the air.
Morgana.
Without hesitation, I ran back to the cave and looked for her. I saw her at the end of the cave surrounded by huge rocks that she can’t pass through.
“Morgana,’ I called out.
I teleported to her and grabbed her. But before I could teleport back the cave collapsed and everything went dark.
Morgana and I couldn’t stop coughing as we were surrounded by dust with not that much clean air.
“This is my fault. I should’ve never returned here.”
I hugged Morgana tightly and shushed her while she silently cried.
I tried to use my Telepathy to communicate with Luke to help us, unfortunately it didn’t work because we were too far from each other.
We have no choice but to stay and wait for someone to help us escape. As we waited, we went down to where Morgana stayed before I found her. Luckily, my Teleportation worked and when we arrived there were food, a couch, a television, a telephone that I hope works and other things that could help us survive.
I barely slept last night because of the situation we are in. If I remembered Morgana was in here sooner, I could’ve saved her faster and we’re not supposed to be in here.
I reached for my pocket and held my necklace. I stared at it for a few moments until I heard something. A voice. Whispering to me. “Run.” it hissed. “Save yourself.”
What does it mean? Does it mean I should leave everyone at the academy to save myself?
I heard something again, this time it’s not coming from the necklace. Morgana. She’s awake.
She’s talking to someone or something. I flipped her while laying down to see what she’s talking to.
The necklace.
It’s her. She’s the one talking to me through the necklace.
“You want me to leave my friends and hide, again?”
“It’s the only way.”
“No! It’s not”
“Please, listen to me—”
“I won’t. I’m done hiding.” “This wouldn’t end if I won’t put a stop to it. I will fight.” I declared.
“I don’t want to lose you!” she cried out. “I don’t want to lose you like mom and dad.”
I paused.
“You won’t lose me.” I affirmed. I will never let those Waldroms win. I will fight and I will be victorious.
“Promise me, you’ll let me fight with you?”
I stayed silent.
Then, the cave rattled. .
“What’s happening?” Morgana said scared.
I groaned when something struck me. The necklace. It’s glowing, as well as my eyes.
“He’s coming.” The necklace hissed.
Who is?
“Orphic”
Osiris.
“I know you’re in here.” I looked at Morgana. “Come out, wherever you are.”
Morgana then pulled me deeper into the cave.
“You can’t hide from me forever.”
Morgana and I looked at each other before nodding and entering the deeper part of the cave.
Another chamber.
“What’s inside here?” I asked Morgana.
“I don’t know.” she said. “I haven’t been to this part of the cave.”
As we entered the chamber, Osiris’ voice disappeared.
“Where are we?” Morgana said cluelessly.
We scanned the entire room and found some books on a shelf and a box full of old photographs. Old photographs of our family. Every single one of the photos has a location written at the back. I guess this is where our families hid while being chased by the others.
We found an old, tall, and dusty cabinet. One filled with old artifacts and things hidden by our family. There was a sword, a cape, and a pair of shoes. We grabbed one of the books that said “Old Artifacts” and skimmed through the pages to know what were the uses of each one of these things.
The sword is obviously a weapon for a war. The cape is an invisibility cape, while the pair of shoes is for super speed.
As we were rummaging through the things we heard the rocks move.
When we heard the rocks move, I used my X-Ray Vision to see who it was.
Luke. And Cyfrin?
He called for back-up.
“Help us!”
“Where are you two?”
I used my telepathy on Cyfrin to tell him where we were in case Osiris was still outside, waiting for us.
Morgana jumped in excitement when the rocks that were covering the chamber were moving. Cyfrin was using his telekinesis to move the rocks to save us. A few minutes later, Luke and Cyfrin saw us and helped us get out.
Morgana smiled ear-to-ear when the two guys finally set us free. Not until.
“Thank you, you two for helping me look for the heir.” Osiris said, applauding.
Luke and Cyfrin immediately covered us and were ready to fight him.
“You will never get the necklace.” Luke exclaimed.
Osiris laughed hysterically. He looked at me dead-straight into my eyes and raised his hand to signal me to come forward.
As I ignored his words, he used his telekinesis to slam Luke into the wall which made his head bleed. He stood up looking at him furiously, then he fought Cyfrin by pinning him into the wall and choking him. Luckily, he punched him so hard that his mouth bled. Then he grabbed Morgana by the wrist and made her give him her necklace but kicked him in the groin. I don’t usually use the enchantress as I still have powers but as I saw my friends and my sister struggling, I was left with no choice but to use it.
When I activated it, all of them stared at me in shock when I started floating in the air with my eyes and necklace glowing a bright purple. I looked at Osiris furiously and choked him hard, which made him struggle to talk. And finally, he died.
Morgana rushed towards me and hugged me. I looked at Luke and used my healing powers to make his head stop bleeding.
After everything, we finally returned to the academy.
As we entered the dorm room, Zara, Audrey and Blake immediately hugged us as soon as we got there. I didn’t move. I’m not a hugger.
“We were so worried about you two.” Audrey sighed in relief.
“You guys should take a rest. We still have tomorrow.” Blake groaned.
The next day came by so quickly. This was the first time in a while that I had a great sleep, maybe because of exhaustion. I had a good morning, I had nothing bothering me, I had no mission for today, just going to class, no disturbances.
Or so I thought.
After class ended, the alarms blared throughout the school. The Headmistress’ voice echoed.
“Students! Gather around the main hall, now!”
Ugh, what’s wrong this time?
Before I left the classroom something struck me. My head spinning, my palms shaking, my chest aching, my vision getting blurry. What is happening to me?
I sat for a few minutes when Cyfrin entered the room.
“Why are you still here?”
“I fell asleep during class. I just woke up.
I can tell Cyfrin didn’t believe it but he didn’t push me in telling him.
“What’s happening outside?” I asked.
“The girl escaped,” he muttered.
“What girl?”
“The girl they thought was you,” he explained. “They think they have an accomplice here and are investigating every single one of the students.”
We both immediately stopped talking when the girl entered the room.
Cleo.
“Guys, please don’t tell anyone, I’m here.”
Cyfrin and I exchanged looks. We both nodded.
“Why did you escape?” Cyfrin investigated.
“I’m not the real heir.” Well, we know that.
“You’re not?” We pretended to be shocked.
“I don’t know who the real heir is.” she begged. “Please, don’t let anyone know you saw me.”
“I can help you.” I offered.
“Really?”
I nodded.
I used my teleportation powers to get her somewhere safe, somewhere far away.
With one snap, she vanished. Cyfrin looked amazed.
“Where did you take her?” he questioned.
“In another dimension.”
“What?”
