I sent her far away from here, and the only place I could think of is in another dimension.
Later that night, while we were talking in our room, we discussed what had happened earlier.
“Who do you think help her escaped?” Audrey wondered.
“Maybe a close friend?” Zara uttered.
We immediately stopped talking when the Head Mistress entered our room with Luke.
“Miss Calypso, we need to talk.” She sounded mad.
“Miss, she has nothing to do with it, I swear.” Luke affirmed.
What were they talking about?
I froze in shock when the head mistress showed me a recorded cctv video wherein I helped Cleo escape.
“Where did you bring her?” she demanded.
“I told her to help her” Luke made up an excuse to save me.
Why is Luke so protective of me?
“Is this true, Miss Calypso?” Luke widened his eyes at me signaling to go with him.
“Yes, Miss. He told me to wait for Cleo in the room and help her escape.” I articulated.
The head mistress sighed. I can’t fully tell if she believed it, but she just went with it.
While leaving the room, Luke winked at me and smiled teasingly. As they had already left, the others stared at me in shock. They know Luke and I lied.
“You helped her escape?!” Audrey blurted out.
Before I could answer, Cyfrin jumped in.
“Cleo begged us to help her escape. So we did.” he stated. “Just not in the way she expected.”
“What do you mean?” Blake.
Cyfrin and I exchanged looks.
“Orphic might’ve sent her to another dimension.”
“What?!” Audrey exclaimed.
“Cool.” Zara said calmly.
The room fell silent. Blake finally spoke.
“So… where exactly did she go?”
Cyfrin scratched the back of his neck. “No idea.”
“That is a horrible answer.” Audrey groaned.
“At least, she’s safe now, I guess?” Morgana concluded.
“You’re not so sure about that.” Zara said.
“You’re not helping.” Cyfrin commented.
“Welp, there’s nothing we can do now.” Morgana stated. “What’s done is done.”
Luke rushed inside our room.
“They’re here.”
The Waldroms. They’re the second most powerful, next to the Alyus. That’s why they want the Enchantress to be the most powerful and to rule the whole world.
“There she is.” Apollyon Waldrom. “The lost heir.” He pointed at me. All of them stared at me confused.
“Let’s cut this short. Give me the Enchantress, now.” He demanded.
“If you think, I would just give it to you that easily, you’re wrong.” I said calmly.
“You don’t want me to hurt your friends, do you?” I stared at them, all of them looked nervous, especially Morgana.
“So, is it the Enchantress, or your friends?”
I opened my eyes.
Another nightmare.
My heart was thumping, my head aching and my eyes tired.
I have to get them to safety. I don’t want to get them in trouble because of me. I don’t want them to get hurt but I don’t want to give up the enchantress that easily. I don’t want it to get into the wrong hands. I thought about what Morgana said in the cave. Maybe it’s better for everyone that I just hide.
I waited for the sunrise to come when everyone was asleep so I could sneak out and leave. I left them a note saying I went on vacation to cover up my true intention.
Memories rush through my mind when I look at the girls sleeping soundly knowing I’ll leave them for their safety. I can’t let another person important to me get hurt because of this damn necklace. I almost teared up while remembering our memories but I didn’t let it get to me. I used my teleportation power to go back to Edinburgh and find if I still have relatives there.
As I arrived at our old castle, I looked for important stuff that may lead me to answers about this necklace, why am I the chosen one and why does my family have it?
After taking some things from our old castle, I went to where Luke and I stayed before the orphanage took him from me. The Underground Warren below South Bridge in Edinburgh’s old town.
Cyfrin
I felt my body shaking as I woke up because of Audrey panicking.
“What is it?” I asked, annoyed.
“Orphic left.” Zara said calmly, which made me jolt awake.
“She left this note. She said she’s just on vacation.” I yanked the note from Zara’s hand.
“Audrey, you should chill out.”
“No, I’m not gonna chill out.” she exclaimed. “How are you so relaxed about this? What if she’s in trouble?”
That made me pause. What if she’s been captured by the Waldroms and told us that she’s on vacation so that we won’t look for her.
The first thing that I thought of where she’s going to go is to the cave, but it’s dangerous now, the Blackwoods may come there, so obviously that’s off the list. Where could she possibly go?
I tried communicating with her through telepathy but I couldn't reach her. She’s probably too far away from here. Maybe she doesn’t want to be found. I know Orphic, she wouldn’t just leave us here.
As Audrey was panicking, we were thinking about why she left, and where she went. Then, Luke came in.
“I might know where she is,” he admitted. How did he know? The two are hiding something. Orphic is hiding something from me. That made my chest heavy, my head ached, and my fist tightened.
“But I’m afraid she does not want to be found.” How so?
“What makes you think that?” I stood up from my bed looking at him straight into his soul.”
“Because we've been friends since we were kids,” he raised his head at me.
Oh. That hurt. That made me pause. I cleared my throat before speaking up again.
“Can you at least tell us if she’s safe?” I begged.
“She is. Don’t worry.” We all sighed in relief.
