He that couldn’t take his eyes off of her
Andreas couldn't stop staring at the woman behind the bar. She had caught his attention the moment that he walked
in for a night of drinking and partying with his pack mates. She had the silkiest hair he had ever seen. The way that
she tucked it behind her ears every single time she switched tasks was mesmerizing. He watched her throw the towel
on her shoulder, tuck her long hair behind her ear, and then pick up the drink that she was shaking. She was laughing at
something a patron was telling her, eyes crinkling so.cutely.
"Hey man, you been staring that woman down like she's about to kill your mother. What gives?" Barret slappeda hand
on Andreas's shoulder. Barret was the beta to Andreas's alpha.
"Nothing. I think I must talk to her."
"Yeah, she's hot. In a weird elf sort of way" Barret sniffed in the bartender's direction. "I can only smell human.
"Yeah,; Andreas all but mumbled. "Hot."
His moments of solitude were over. Now that it had Barret's attention it was time for Andreas to make his move and
speak the lady. Jessa laughed at the corny joke the aging businessman threw her way while she prepared his drink. It was a
blissfully empty night for the club, as there was no live music, or other live performances. The people that were here
tonight had simply wandered in to have a good time. It was jessa and her coworker Brian's job to make sure
everyone was cared for.
"Well, I am sure that the chicken will pay better attention to the stock market next time! Jessa said, and poured the
man his cocktail. She tucked her hair behind her ear and readied herself for her next customer.
"Hey' a deep voice beckoned. "Over here."
Jessa didn't even have to look in his direction to know where he was. When she looked up at him, she saw the
handsomest man she had ever seen. It took her aback. He was large, extremely large. His dress shirt could barely
keep him locked in, the muscles deliciously strained at the shirt every movement he made. His hair was cut short
and he had a rugged five o'clock shadow to complement a razor sharp jaw. Hollywood, maybe, Jessa thought.
"Tuck your hair behind your ear one more time and I won't be able to help myself" the stranger smiled at her. "Tll have
to take a bite out of you"
Jessa had to do a double take. The tone of his voice was perfectly cordial, but the contents were decidedly not.
"Well" she said. That would have to wait until after hours, handsome. If you stay that long. What can I help you with?”
“When is after hours?"
"In about six hours. My shift just started unfortunately for you. People party hard in this part of town"
The man just smiled at her, a knowing smile that made Emma feel like he wasnt going anywhere.
"Just get me started with a whisky, and we'll see from there."
"Coming right up.
This time Jessa was conscious of the fact that she tucked her hair behind her ear. The one night that she did not
bring hair band reinforcements her hair tie broke. Luckily for her, her hair was thick and docile for the most part.
She also became conscious of his eyes that followed her throughout the night. He sat quiet, only smiling every time
Jessa caught his eye. He waved away a couple women and men. He was tenacious, that was a given. Jessa could
hardly keep a smile from her face as she attended to the duties of her shift. Who wouldn't be excited if a beautiful
stranger wanted to spend time with you outside of work? This beautiful stranger was polite and knew his whiskeys.
Jessa wasn't sure that she wasn't dreaming.
Well, or it was her naivete. She was all too prone to watching the world through rose tinted glasses. It was what
made her great at her job. She saw the best in all of the people that came through the door, even the people that were
not so palatable.
"That man has you marked, girl, Brian told her. Jessa laughed.
"Yeah, seems to.
"Does he feel safe?" Brian was all too versed in being able to kick people out. Jeff, the bouncer, was all but a button
away
"Yeah. He's fine. 'll be careful' Jessa shot a look to the stranger, who only smiled back at her. He was speaking with
another man that sat down next to him. But he seemed to know every moment she would look at him.
"You betta be careful, or else I will be forced to snatch him right away from you. He's scrumptious. I wish I would
build muscle like that."
"Honestly, me too."
The shift was winding down, as were the attendees of the club. Jessa decided it was a perfect time to chat up the
stranger and see where it led.
"Hey, you good on your whiskey?"
"I have been cared for exceptionally well, thank you. What are you doing after work?"
"Oh, I was thinking I could kick back and drink my boxed wine while watching some trash reality T.V. My next shift
starts pretty soon, so l only have enough time for that and sleep. Unless.." Jessa waggled her eyebrows at the
stranger.
the stranger chuckled. "You're going to let me lead just like that?"
"Unless I had something else in mind" the stranger chuckled. "You're going to let me lead just like that?!
"1 like a man who leads, it makes dancing for me so much more fun.
"Be careful what you wish for beautiful. You might not be able to handle me.!"
Jessa stared at the man, letting a soft laugh ring into the space around them.
"Try me, handsome."
"Are you going to challenge me like this all of the time?" There was hardness behind the soft exterior of his tone. He
was really feeling her out.
"of course! There's no fun without a chase. I have a feeling that you know that better than most" Jessa said,
nonchalantly.
At these words, the mani's eyes narrowed and Jessa was sure that he was about to lunge at her. She felt her stomach
drop as her nervous response kicked in.
Then, the man smiled.
"A chase? I am going to give you the chase of a lifetime. You can run, but the only escape is...well, there isnt one.
Meet me outside the bar when you are ready for our first rendezvous.!
