Almost as quickly as Merlin had appeared, he disappeared into the mist of the cave. I drifted back towards my house, carried like a lost bird on a misty tide of troublesome thoughts.
How would I be able to do what Merlin had suggested? Closing my eyes, I focused on empowering my senses to feel the skies, stars, and clouds floating around me. At last, I felt a tingle of bravery, bolstered by the tranquil stillness of the night, which radiated like a calming balm throughout my spirit body. It was enough to make me courageous for the momentous task ahead.
