RYDER’S PORTRAIT
Time to chance brush strokes.
Paints been silent for too long,
A shadow arrives,
I can’t eradicate it,
Did I wish it to happen?
On Monday evening, an overwhelming urge came over me to sketch Ryder. I’d already etched every contour of his face into my mind. I knew each facial expression of his by heart. After all, I’d stared at his good looks often enough! So, now was the time to transfer this to paint and paper.
Sitting at the kitchen table, I opened the paint set and referred to the colour wheel within: purple amethyst extolled creativity, red jade represented courage, orange embodied joy, green encouraged discovery, Yellow represented enlightenment, Violet depicted intuition, Black symbolised protection, white ice exemplified calcite, and natural
