Watching myself

Floating

I hear some sort of sizzling, but I’m afraid to open my eyes. Slowly I begin to peek at my surroundings, everyone’s burnt to a crisp.. how am I alive? Is anyone else okay? Wait.. is that.. NO.. it’s.. me!?.. I try to look down at my hands but I see nothing. How is this possible? I’m right there but yet I’m here?! I panic and realize I can still move about freely. I have to see if anyone else survived and if they can see or hear me.

I lose hope as I look at all my lifeless classmates. I never really liked anyone but I wasn’t a monster that didn’t care for human life. I try not to focus on the burning feeling in my throat as I look into surroundings cars. No one made it. But is it possible that there are invisible people like me? I try to call out but I seems I can only form thoughts and no words. This is hopeless I try to say as I float to my own body again. Wait… where did everyone go?! I look around and see multiple figures moving along the road. It couldn’t possibly be.. zombies?! Am I a zombie? Where is my body? I panic and try look for myself. I spot my tie-dye back pack. As I float closer I see that my body is moving freely but when I try to think of moving my hand nothing happens. What is going on!

Several of my classmates were walking along side me, I wonder if anyone else was here going through what I am. I couldn’t possibly be the only one that this is happening to. I try to shove my own body and to my surprise it jolted into the direction I shoved myself into. ‘I want to look for my Aunt’ is all I can think right now but I can’t risk losing my body. I could try manoeuvre my body to my Aunts but that will take awhile. What if I try to trap myself somewhere so I can go check on her without the risk of my body getting lost.

I snap out of my own thought when I realized my body is heading in the direction of home. I’ll have to be patient on myself and slowly move along with my body. Let’s give my body a nickname since it’s not really part of me anymore. How about Nemo? That’s sounds okay. I hope Nemo finds her way and keeps out of trouble.

Maybe I can check on my Aunt before Nemo gets there. My only concern is that Nemo might not be heading to my Aunts. I should scout around to see if all the students are heading in the same direction.

As I hover above, I notice different ’people’ heading in different directions. I notice Koi waking into a near by house which I could only assume was his. Hopefully Nemo is heading home? I check on her/me one last time before heading towards my Aunts.
