Once inside, she carefully removed the bullet from his arm while he groaned in pain.
“You’re going to be okay.” she said, her tone a mix of frustration and concern.
She said, “You didn’t have to take the bullet for me. Look at what you’ve to yourself.”
Daniel winced but managed a weak smile.
He said, “If I hadn’t saved you, I could never forgive myself. I don’t even know what I’d do if I lost you.”
Saidi’s hand paused for a moment, but she quickly composed herself.
“There, it’s done.” she said, bandaging his arm.
She said, “The wound isn’t too deep. You’ll heal soon enough. And … thanks for saving my life.”
Without meeting his gaze, she stood and began treating her own injuries. Her heart was conflicted. She couldn’t deny she was starting to feel something for him.
But, she resolved to keep her distance, making her emotions behind a cold demeanor.
After finishing, she glanced over at Daniel and saw he had drifted into a deep sleep.
That’s when her gaze landed on his wallet, casually left on the table before the mission. Inside was a beautiful woman.
Her heart clenched and in that moment, she made a firm decision. She would never allow herself to fall for Daniel. She assumed the woman in the picture was his girlfriend.
Then suddenly, Agent Mama Bear called her. Saidi updated her about her their mission progress and Daniel’s condition.
Agent Mama Bear instructed her to leave the hotel at night, but Saidi explained that would be challenging.
However, Agent Mama Bear refused to negotiate and firmly directed her to head to the location she had sent.
She also mentioned that leaving Russia was not an option at the moment due to heightened security.
Before hanging up, she said, “You two will rendezvous with Agent Dark.” Shortly after, Saidi received the coordinates for Agent Dark’s residence.
After ending the call, Said gently nudged Daniel awake after he stirred, and she explained the situation to him.
