They said hindsight was 20/20, and Alex knew that to be right, as well. It was easier to look back and think of all of the things you should have done than to do the right thing at the right time. He had messed up – but he never should have let it get to that point. He should have done something.
He wasn’t sure how Crichton had managed to sway those men to do what he wanted – they weren’t even part of the Forest. Somewhere, Crichton had some very powerful friends. Alex thought they might have been Sharp’s bosses but he wasn’t sure.
